I havent been on this site for long but in this short time ive noticed there is alot of hatred among sunnis and shias? as we sit here and try to prove each other wrong, innocent muslims of both sects are dying in iraq and pakistan for no cause. sunnis claim that shias slander his companions and wifes true there are some shias who do it out of ignorance but majority of shias respect them and consider as great as companions of the holy prophet even imam ali respected aysha after the battle of camel when he sent her back to madina.

"Today, world peace is such that all countries are under the political influence of the superpowers; they observe a control everywhere and have schemes for defeating every group. The most important of these is sowing discord among brothers.
Muslims should be awake, Muslims should be alert that if a dispute takes place among Sunni and Shia brothers, it is harmful to all of us, it is harmful to all Muslims. Those who want to sow discord are neither Sunni nor Shia, they are agents of the superpowers and work for them.
Those who attempt to cause discord among our Sunni and Shia brothers are people who conspire for the enemies of Islam and want the enemies of Islam to triumph over Muslims. They are the supporters of America and some are supporters of the Soviet Union.
I hope that through considering this Islamic precept - that all Muslims are brothers - all Islamic countries will triumph against the superpowers and succeed in actualizing all Islamic ordinances.
Muslims are brothers and will not be segregated by the pseudo-propaganda sponsored by corrupt elements. The source of this matter - that Shias should be on one side and Sunni on the other - is on the one hand ignorance and on the other hand propaganda of the foreigners.
If Islamic brotherhood comes to the fore among Islamic countries, such will become a great power which none of the global powers will be able to cope with.
Shi'ites and Sunnis brothers should avoid every kind of dispute. Today, discord among us will only benefit those who follow neither Shia nor Hanafi. They neither want this nor that to exist, and know the way to sow dispute between you and us. We must pay attention that we are all Muslims and we all believe in the Qur'an; we all belive in Tawheed and must work to serve the Qur'an and Tawheed." www.introducingislam.org

i believe the brother is misguided by his blind hatred and refuses to recognises someones merits just because he is shia.
it is a great sin to slander someone, especially a person who has devoted his life to islam and Allah (SWT). it is a testament to the mentality of some, that this when man who seeks to unite the ummah and extends his hand in peace, they would rather slap him in the face. this is unbefirtting of a muslim, and certainly not at all in the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (saww). Khomeini supported all muslims, and didnt discriminate against sunnis. Which country has been the most vocal opponenet of Israel, and has supported the Palestinians throughout its inception?
Khomeini was able to ispire a nation in the grip of secularism and revive its Islamic spirit. He was able to lead a revoltion which overthrew a government back by the worlds superpower, and without resorting to military force. He is a man who embodied what he taught, pious and humble. He could have lived in the shahs palaces and had many luxuries, but he didn't. He lived a life far simpler than any of us, you should visit his home and see. He put Islam before anything else. What other muslim leader this century (apart from Imam Mahdi (as)) has achieved what Khomeini achieved? He was accomplished intellectually, spiritually, politically. Unfortunately, instead of adopting his philosophy, which lead to the succes of the Islamic Revolution, a methodology of unifying people under the banner of Islam, many in the muslim world resent the fact that such success came from a Shia. Jealousy has held back many of them from overcoming their opression.
On the issue of sex change, one should first have an understanding if islamic jurisprudence before deciding to comment. The issue of sex change is a matter of debate amongst the maraja, some believe it is permissible and some do not. First of all, in Islam everything is permissible unless it is proven haraam. So on that grounds it is definitely not a clear cut issue. Secondly it applies only to certain situaitoons, such as when people are born with both male and female secondary charachteristics. It is defined as a disease and treated as such. At any rate, this is purely a reflection of his scholarly research and not his personal character. He himself has undergone no such operation, and has gained no personal benefit from it. As I said it is a purely jurisprudential issue.
As for marriage with children, are you mocking this? I would advise you to go and read a bipgraphy of the Prophet (saww), Shia or sunni. At what age did the Prophet (saww) marry aisha?
On the issue of the Imam Mahdi (as), your claim is actually incorrect. I have a number of books right here on the Imam (as), none of which mention that incident. So clearly the assertion that ALL books on the Imam (as) claim this is incorrect. In fact you will find only a minority of books do, and of those many contend the status of the hadith and just mention it for completeness. These kinds of hadith are from the classical sources which, due to the limited knowledge of the narrators, contain many weak traditions. It is usually only those of the Akhbarian persuasion who uphold all the hadith without question, and they are marginalised in the Shia school of thought.
Perhaps the brother should invest in stronger glasses while carrying out his 'research'.

Any morally and ethically sound physician would advocate a sex change if done for the right medical reasons, and Khomeini advocated ethics. This may show to which extent his brand of Shia'ism would go to prevent homosexuality.
As far as the Omar Abu BaKr think, whatever, nobody has ever heard of that.
May I also remind you of the shia'a belief that when the mahdi comes he will supposedly bring back Abu Bakr (R) and Omar (R) and kill them again and then kill the sunnis and then reveal the "real" quran. LOL This is known and mentioned in ALL your books about the Mahdi. How does THAT indicate peace??
