UPDATED - Arab Food in Chiville

Ok ... so we haven't chatted about food in a while (Uppercut must be busy) ... so I'm wondering where do you get the best Arab food in the Chicago area? Something akin to La Shish in Detroit (which is the standard as far as I'm concerned).

It doesn't have to be a beautiful place ... it just has to have great tasting food ... my preference - Chicken Shish Tawook (Lebanese / Syrian style) ...

Suggestions? Bring'em on ... I'm hungry ...

I'm with Adil, the best restaurants are up and down Kedzie. There are a few good ones near Foster and Clark (not just Rezas and Cousins, but the little Morrocan place across the street). Man, I miss the city!

FYI
I've come to the conclusion that Al Khaymeih (at the intersection of Kedzie and Lawrence) has some of the best Arab food in town. Everything tastes incredibly good.

Salaam's Turkish tea is amazing. I personally really like their hummus and their pickled beets though I've heard their chicken and kababs are good. I'm not sure if they're zabiha or not so I haven't had any of the meat entrees.
