URGENT!!

Hi guys. I am in urgent need of everyone's help. I finally brought home my 12 wk old kitten this Saturday. Turns out I didn't name him Napoleon Dynamite a.k.a. Nappy, n instead named him Tony Montana (of Scarface, in case u dint get that). =o) I take great pride in introducing him, cuz i get to hold him in my arms n say "Se hell-lo thoo my liddo fren." (sound it out.)

Yes, I know. corny...

So anyways, he's a beautiful white, grey-pawed n -tailed mix of siamese n something, and is a cuddler. And I'm in LOWE with him. buttt, it gives me the heebijeebies when i see fleas crawling thru his beautiful white fur. n now im itching. and they're gonna infest my room, and clothes, and bedding. I read online that if he lets me, I should vaccuum my kitty as well. I did. =o) He liked it. (Don't ask.)

But it doesn't help!! What can I do to get rid of them? Combs, collars, shampoos, pills, sprays??? I read that nothing helps. I'm freaking out cuz last time I had a kitty with fleas, they were everyyyyy where and we were all walking around with huge red bites all over that spread n scarred for a few months. N ultimately someone ended up in the hospital (long story). It was nasty, to say the least.

The previous owner told me all cats have em for the 1st 6 months. That's not true.. is it? 3 of my 5 cats I've had over time never had fleas, even since kittenhood. What gives?

Help pleasssse, before they spread allll over the house and it's too late for Tony and me.

OMG!!! FLEAS ARE THE MOST HORRIBLE THING EVER!!! You have to try to kill them in your house with the whole flea bomb deal simultaneously treating your cat. And as far as the bathing deal goes, you just have to work fast and get those suckers as they crawl up. Get an extra pair of hands to work (eg. one person holds the cat, and the other busts the fleas). I'm so sorry you have to go through this. It's the worst part of having a pet :(

(we tried to bathe him last weekend to drown the fleas and comb out the rest, and we managed to kill like 200 on his body, but like another 100 crawled up to his face and were crawling into his eyes and ears so we had to stop. it was terrible!)

thanks guys for the advice. im takin tony to the vet today. full check up, as well as catstar, a pill administered to him that kills all fleas on his body within 24 hours, and im goin with frontline for 3 months. ive got shampoos and stuff to keep up with it. but the hardest part is gettin rid of em in my home. ive got flea bombs n flea sprays, n ive gotta vaccuum and wash/dry clean evvverything. plus he sleeps nestled in my neck and hair, so i've gotten a few bites. arrggghhhh... ne1 else have flea experiences?

I'd say shampoo him and give him the flea treatments on a regular basis.

honestly i dont think anything is guaranteed. try to use treatment such as frontline on them regularly as well combing thru his hair and giving him a bath every now and then.

i heard that Tony would cut a ommunist for fun. but for a visa, he'd carve him up real nice.

go to your pet shop for some meds. theres this thing you rub on top of your cats head and it smells good and it gets ridda fleas and stuff for a month. i found it at target for like 10 bucks one time.
