All of you have already heard of the destruction in South Asia, especially Pakistan and Kashmir where thousands have been left homeless, or trapped under piles of rubble. The less fortunate ones are already dead. I alongwith a few of my Atlanta brothers are wanting to reach out to as many people as possible to help raise funds for our countrymen, women, children and elderly to help them through the calamity and the life that follows. We are the more fortunate Pakistanis/South Asians who have made it somewhere in our lives, and its time we do something truly constructive to help Pakistan.

We would first of, urge all of you to make whatever contribution you possibly can (I am sure you have already done that). Also we are wanting people to come forward to make suggestions so we can join forces and not make individual efforts towards the same goals. We are planning to prepare several meals over the course of the next week to raise donations for the Pakistani earthquake victims (I have already started on that project at work-being the only Pakistani there!) Another friend has suggested the clothing drive....
Kindly lets get organized and coordinate our efforts. Any suggestions are welcome. We Atlantans will make a difference- but lets act fast:)
Thanks for your support in advance!

Today, like every other day,
we wake up empty and scared.
Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading.
Take down the dulcimer.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways
to kneel
and kiss the ground.
