Very Quixotic, no?

news.bbc.co.uk

when politicians start handing out books to the people, free of charge, then you've got to give them props.

apparently Don Quijote de la mancha won a "best fiction award, beating out shaskephere and tolstoy.

i've read it, i liked it, but not to any great extent that it would make a top 50 list.

still. now that a million copies are being handed out free, if you haven't read it, it might be time.

i think they have it in english too

Plato, the article for which you provided us a link mentions that it's the 2nd most pubbed book. Love Cervantes and all but I wouldn't vote DON QUIXOTE the #1 best fiction work ever. And, while they're counting the number of books in print around the world to determine that this is the most pubbed book, who knows why it's considered best fiction (oh, the literati).

bush would give bibles out, or that swift boat veterans book. i don't know if it's #2 published, it is number 1 "best fiction" as far as whomever decides these thigns is concerned.

Loved Don Quixote, but it's the second most pubbed book after the Bible? Wha'? I had no idea. I wonder which books the Bush Whitehouse would hand out to Americans, if they could?

a great book! but when the government starts handing out books for free at one street corner, it usually means they're burning a pile of other books down the block... sounds like a party to me.
