Volunteering in Pakistan

Some doctors are trying to get a group together to help the earthquake victoms in Pakistan.

Several of us will be in Pakistan in the second half of December. If you would like to join us, please let me know. All specialties are welcome, and any level of training. This includes any nurses and support staff you may know of.

The details have not been worked out, but we will try to contact a group/hospital on the ground doing the work, and likely join them.

Email me through Naseeb or to my work email address:

I just attended a Disaster Relief conference in Rawalpindi. It seems a lot of good work has been done and continnues to be done.

For Americans, one of the better options is to go work at the MASH, which has a nice presence there. APPNA can co-ordinate that, And there are a multitude of other organizations, including Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children, Red Cross, etc.

I would actually like to go in March as well, during my elective month.

It seems that a group called "Doctors Worldwide" is going to maintain a presence there through the summer.

If I get more information, I'll post it up here, iA.
