rite aid doesnt treat its employees well thats not the case in jersey. in fact they screw you on ur pay at least in jersey. they have a lot of bad debt and their ceo bilked them out of millions. compare the stock prices of rite aid and walgreens. its all about what you want and prefer.
all list the pros and cons of each:
rite aid pros: 1) easier to get a store 2) high turnover so more oppurtunity to move up in NYC there are 3 PDM (pharmacy development manager positions open) they all left for better companies with higher pay 4) more laid back than the other chains
cons:1)get screwed on pay 2) financially worthless stock
3) a lot of stupid paperwork and modules 3)high turnover
walgreens:1) great pay (id say the highest except for target) 2) great retirement package their plan is a 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 match i think. its funded through stock plan so if their stock tanks ur fcked dude. rite aid in ny is 1199 so its union and union as you know is time and a half non contributory pension etc. so i dont know what state your from. anyway if your in for the long haul and you want to do retail for a while id work for walgreens and id put some money into that 3 to 1 plan they have you can triple your cash when you leave and have a nice chunk for retirement if you just want to make cash and a have a laid back time work for target , or some slow place.
cons: walgreens 1) you have to float before you get a store and it can be a year or 2 before you get a store 2) all their stores are going 24 hours so they can float you nights that blows 3) they all have drive thru trust me that blows too. 4) complicated computer system its good but its really complicated....i worked nights at the busiest store in nj and it was hell trust me walgreens is strict so think twice before you go there
hope this helps
good luck
I would also ask them a few questions like 1) where will they place you? 2) what kind of hours will you work 3) ask what other pharmacists think of the hours and how worth it to have the benefits but be treated like a machine or another employee4) how accessible is the scheduling district manager so that if you ever need time off will you get it or are you on the bottom of their priority list?
i am sure rite aid has a similar program...look around first they're all desperate anyway...
hope that helps :)
