Wedding Dress
What would be your favorite dress for your own wedding day? Style, design, color, fabric?
i got mine from India when i went last year :op...its a 'lengha' style...which bascially means its a short blouse (jus up to the waist) with a long skirt (down to your ankles) with a scarf...all three peices have very delicate embroidery on them, however the scarf is fully embroidered. The embroidery is in a light gold with small roses and the actual colour of the outfit is between a pink and red rose. I shall be wearing it on Saturday :o)
I'd like red (the nice shade of red not orangish red) traditional gharara/sharara whatever it is called q-: and for reception I want to wear a sari.. but it all depends.. (:
Hey Aangil, no one can beat Armani suits. Thats an awsesome choice. I think my choice of color of my wedding gown would be light pink. The fabric would be a breeza with little shiny, glittering beads all over the dress. I think I would prefer a langa type dress.
My wedding dress was a disaster :S but i will tell u abt the most beautiful one I have seen so far.....White farshi gharara with white and silver embroidery with just the slightest of green edging to break the white. (the groom liked the idea of his bride in white!)
A very classy Pakistani silk sharrara, it could have an organza or chiffon dupatta. For the reception, cranberry or dark pink shade, or a two tone shade in some other vibrant colour close to red with crystals and gold embroidery. For the daytime, pastel colour like light pink with silver embroidery & crystals. I want to look like a princess!
I hadn't thought about a wedding dress yet but after thinking about it here is what I would like. I would like two dresses for my wedding (one for reception and another one for Nikah). One is going to be traditional dress (shalwar Qameez)and a gown/coat with some work done on it. I think a ot of Pakistani designers make such wedding dresses so I shall see what is in at that time. Second one is going to be a suit perhaps wool cashmere or some mix of wool-silk and a shirt with a necktie. I guess I could go for a Giorgio Armani suit. I am not sure about the color though.
i was talking with my friend about that mamad... although tuxedos are nice.. its kinda overrated.. and besides.. in some places.. the waiters wear tuxedos.. and so you dont want the groom lookin like the staff! so a hot suit with some color coordination for the tie would be sweet...
I'm not a big fan of a DJ (tuxedo as americans say) or the very traditional morning suit...I personally think you can't go wrong with a well cut suit...probably a darkish colour to contrast well with the bride's white dress...and a nice colourful tie.
white.. simple.. elegant.. i def agree with stajani.. ive always been a fan of simplicity... i find simple to be classy... but yeah.. gotta find a man first.. teehee..
Aangil: I havent thought that far as yet...first i have to find a man to marry, and then I will figure it out. But I want my wedding and the clothes to be SIMPLE. For me simple = sophistication ;)
