im a bit bored today so lets play!

lets put together ideas from different cultures to make a new and different wedding event! please add events that you are familiar with, adding intricate details if you dont mind. a three-day event is fine or could be combined all into one day.

example: ....at the end of the nikkah signing, we would step on the glasses and then proceed to jump over the broom...

ok, i tooootally wanted to jump over the broom at my wedding but they thought i was nuts and wouldnt let me.

sillyputty mashallah ur kids are gorgeous...i think they would make good models for a kids catalogue or something

OMG- the picture taking thing is getting so ridiculous! It basically takes up the whole wedding now, esp with the larger ones. Like there is a continuous chaotic line all throughout dinner and cake, etc. It must be horrible for the bride and groom- no one seems to think about them! I personally think that the couple should get pictures taken with the family and you can even do that in a separate room. And as for the guests- of course you want a record of who was there but have the photographer go around to the tables and take pics! Candid shots are more fun : )

yeah, pictures with hundreds of guests is trying...!!! especially if they expect you to smile for every pic!! lol

i think they should make bride/groom lifesize cutouts so everyone can take their required pics and the bride/groom can do their own thing

thats not a very nice tradition!

A french canadian tradition is that if the bride or groom has an older sibling who is not yet married, then they have to wear loong ugly stockings and dance ALL my themselves infront of everyone.
