What can we do for Egypt?

This has been on my mind for a very long time. As an immigrant (or a FOB if you say so), I came to the US thinking that I can learn and go back help out with what I learned. Unfortunately, I found out that this is close to an impossible mission, especially that my field is medicine. A better thought would be to help people over there who are interested in reform do their job.

I understand that there are Egyptian American organizations out there but I don't see any that are based on Egyptian Muslims. Also, I don't see deep involvement of second generation Egyptians. I may be mistaken, tho.

I want to solicit ideas about what Egyptian Americans can do for Egypt. I have some ideas but I thought I start the thread then share mine.

What do u guys think?

Monetary help is always appreciated and desired by citizens of a country such as ours with an overall sucky economy. But i think the purpose of the question extends beyond that type of help. www.naseeb.com vlID=85. Ayman, what ideas were you thinking of?

i was in egypt, i will say every time you go anywhere in egypt give 'sadaka' to whoever you think he needs the money the most. also if you do have old clothes, bring it with you in egypt. we really need to help. life is really tough for those poor people. and nothing better than a sadaka and 'smile' to those people. and you can hear their 'do3a2' comes out from their heart for you.
