What do you like about Teaching?

Is your job just a means to pay the bills or do you love it? What about teaching energizes you and keeps you in the field past that first year?

What innate talents and strengths do you believe that teachers must have to be a good teacher?

I love the enthusiasm that you all have for teaching!

The book, 'Now, Discover your Strenghts', cites an example of a teacher who was great at his job and loved it. His success stemmed from his innate ability of empathy. Without a conscious effort, he assessed his students and their learning style and was able to convey the knowledge in a manner each student was able to understand. Students loved him because he made them feel understood.

I am searching for my professional niche in the world. I'd like to go into an area where I will be positively impacting the lives of individuals. I am still on that journey of discovery but it is heartening to see people loving their jobs.

I LOVE MY JOB - Alhumdulilah!

I couldnt imagine doing anything else. Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions. When I was in the classroom I loved seeing the bright faces of the children. No matter what mood you were in, you would end up smiling because of something a child said or a look they gave you. Teachers hold so much power. We have the ability to make it or break it for many students. They really look up to us and if we play our role correctly, they will remember us for many years to come.

Now that I am out of the classroom and working mostly with teachers and not students I feel sometimes at a loss for not getting to know a child really well. Then again I feel I am still contributing to their well being by helping to educate their teachers further.

I think patience and energy are essential. Organization and flexibility are also important. And the ability to "wing it" when an educational opportunity arises. Also, most important are HIGH EXPECTATIONS.

As I said, I LOVE TEACHING!

, i just had to check this .

What motivates me to become a teacher is the art, the love, the courage, and the decision to give. A teacher to me is a person who gains by giving, by sharing, by volenteering, and by initiating. I am happy for who i am and where i am in life, now want to become a teacher to start giving out, to start nuturing the future. :)
