what have we become?
Did anyone else read about the case of the brave girl Aasma in Meerut who fought off a rapist, reported the case against him and is now being heckled by neighbours for doing it! What is this world coming to? Instead of respecting and rewarding this girl for the fantastic thing she has done, our society is casting aspersions at her. She needs to be upheld as an exemplar for all girls, and especially for girls in our community.
This case also highlights the importance of learning self-defence. Aasma was able to protect herself because she knew karate. We really need to promote this amongst girls in our country.
To what level will we stoop in this blind display of male chauvinism? More importantly, what do we feel/think could be the possible way to change our society from this obviously depraved state of conditions we are in now?
