Try and explain who/what I should be................................. .My ancestors moved from India to Burma (now called Myanmar!) where my parents were both born!! My mother left Burma (Rangoon) at the age of 3 and was raised in Karachi! After Burma was nationalised my dad hopped over to Karachi for a couple of years but immigrated to London!!

I'm a born and bred Londoner!! Whooohooooooooo!!! I've been to Pakistan and India......but I've never felt that either Country is part of me (Not ventured out to Burma yet)!! I'm not quite sure what culture I belong to!! I've been raised more on a religious basis (thank Allah) more then any kind of culture, yet I wear Asian clothes to occasion's but I eat Burmese food!! ); I speak English fluently, I understand and speak Urdu very poorly (but I know More Urdu then any other language) mixed with Burmese and Gujarati words!!!

What's that about?????????????????????????????? ???? #: ;)

Confusion and fusion....................... *:

I was born in Pakistan and lived there for almost 21 years, when I decided to uproot everything and move to the US. It is kind of strange if not weird that I was training to be in the Armed Forces back home and I was in the Air Force academy for about 2 years when I decided to move here and get my masters.

But i realize that my years in college here and my time back home definitley gave me a unique perspective.

:(

Both of my parents were born in India but their families migrated to Pakistan when they were just kids - what a coincidence - once they were married - they moved to Iran where my lovely older brother was born and from there they came to America where I was born. So I consider myself to be Pakistani-American and not an ABCD because there are girls in PK that are involved in worse things than the Pakistani-American girls that I know. :)

Hmmm....that's actually a tough one for me = D

Lets see...I was actually born in Africa, but both my parents are Indian, and I was raised in the US since I was 5ish. So if anyone can help me figure out what I am, I'd be grateful ; )

hey! Great question! Society is very pluralistic, with so many differences it's really interesting, some of the children in my class have such rich mix of cultures! I was born in London,UK to a Bangladeshi Mother and a Pakistani Father (who were both born in India but moved to those countries) and brought up there from the age of 0- 24 years with about 5 years of my childhood in Abu Dhabi, then back to London and recently this year my family and I have moved to California, so I guess I'm a British South Asian Californian for the momet! if u got this far reading this: happy holidays :)

Pakistani American. I agree with the comment that actually being born and raised in a different country (US), you are held to live according to society's customs when your parents lived there (in this case) Pakistan. A very good international friend of mine from Pakistan informed me they even have full out "prom" events...and here in the US none of my fellow Paki friends that are girls were allowed to attend hs prom!

Why Arabic first? I mean you're 1/2 Circassian, 1/2 Turkish and 1/2 Arabic and you can consider Circussian as Turkish (since they consider themselves so!) :P Ok, not too stubborn I am!
