What you love most about Ramadan?!

I posted this exact same question in my JE but since I'm sure more people will be checking out his Village more than my JE's I'll post it here also :P

QUESTION: What are some of your favorite things about Ramadan?! My mom makes so many prathas, samosas and pakoras for us during Ramadan which we don't get nearly as often any other time of the year. I swear to you though, thats not my MOST favorite thing about Ramadan (see my JE to find out what is - hey a lil bit of self-promotion doesn't hurt right!?! LOL!

LH thanks for the link.......I've actually had that before...but just didn't know what its called. Its just rose syrup isn't it?! That stuff is good :)

SShaks: I here you gurl!! Ramadan truly is such a wicked time to do Dawah! I always went to a catholic elementary school and highschool and the whole idea of fasting is something they all found EXTREMELY fascinating. I would have people fasting with me just for the experience.

Rooh Afza is to Pakola what Pepsi is to Coca Cola. Now don't ask me what Pakola is ...

What is rooh afza!? I agree with all of you that the feeling closer to your family during Ramadan is the best.

Also....the closeness we feel with our Muslim brothers and sisters is also much stronger during Ramadan.....LOL....like the way you put it Mehnazmd. :)

Going to Iftars is also really nice......although I've noticed no one really organizes that many anymore like they used to when I was younger..

My favorite aspect of Ramadhan is knowing that I can bond with random people because we're both muslim and hungry!

my mouth is waterring just reading about those foods sis. EVERYTHING. I love everything about Ramadan, the sense of brotherhood/sisterhood, peace, less disruption /distraction/ talking in the masijd, more peace that I think is also related to the fact that we are all tired after fasting, knowing that every good deed is multiplied in value, time for connecting with Allah, Lailatul qadr and sincere prayers ... I'm gonna miss my fam this Ramadan.

I gotta agree with Ashir...it's all about the Rooh Afza!

Seriously, it's probably the feeling of being closer to Allah that I cherish the most during this holy month.

I agree w/ Naja...every 30 days I love about Ramadhan. But one of the tops....this is the month you feel really homely and family oriented. We are so used to our busy schedules that we dont always sit on the breakfast table together. But during Ramadhan..from sahur to iftaar...family bonding greatly increases! Its a great month.

Subah, when is it not food for you????? LOL

I love all of Ramadan. From getting up early to get ready for the fasts to breaking the fasts with family and friends to Tarweeh namaaz.

Lailutal-Qadr! :D

Then of course there is Eid we celebrate after Ramadan.
This is month of blessings, forgiveness and repetance too.

This year expect lots of Eidy presents from all of those older than I on Naseeb. :P
