what's in your garden this year?

Curious to know what everyone is planting, especially in vegetable gardens.

This year I set up a raised cinderblock bed, and have 10 tomatoes, 5 peppers, four eggplants (that are currently being chewed up by something), and a watermelon and cantaloupe. One cuke plant is vining up as well. I also have a secondary ground-level patch with summer squash and some poblano peppers, but it's a half-shade half-sun area, so I'm not expecing much there.

Anyone else?

Ysid, if you can bring yourself to do it, you could in theory do the beer thing to the slugs. I've not been able to get myself to buy a beer to do it, though, LOL (sad, isn't it?) Salt will shrink them up and kill them right away, too.

I picked some peppers today, quite happy with them, though a bit small.

Ive always had a hard time with eggplants. I think they were invaded by a caterpillar, I've seen several cabbagey-caterpillar types meddling around in the garden and have been picking them off.

LOTS of tomatoes, green peppers, eggplants, cukes, zuchhinis, yellow squash, lettuce -- those are my yearly staples. I usually like to have a trial crop every year. Not sure what it will be this time. I have not had luck with cantaloupes or melons because the slugs and other bugs get into them before they are ripe.

Spring peas are planted. Everything else is on hold. The things that are eating the egg plant are most likely eggplant beatles. I don't know of any natural way to get rid of them ... I must confess, I had to use a low toxicity insecticide on them last year ... Mostly the crop was a failure and I won't plant them this year.
