Where is Rani Mukherjee from? ANd what do you all think of her? Whats your favorite movie with her and why?

Rani is a good actress but not the best. Matter of fact I think most of the Indian actresses lack talent. They cant act and pretty much play the same role over and over again. I would have to agree with AVAS on this because there is no comparison to the American actress who can play many different roles and still do a good job. But in Bollywood, I think Preity Zinta and Rani are top. BTW, I saw bunty and babli and it was really bad movie. I even saw it in the theater and was disappointed and wanted a refund. Rani did a great job in Saathiya but then again I love Vivek, so any movie he does, I am game :) You guys are right, Rani does gain and lose weight a lot. I think she looks fine now and definitely has improved from her earlier years.

she's Bengali and I liked her movie Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega a long time ago I also liked Hum Tum

ah rani is cute...but ash is better...and rani's voice??? whats wrong with it? at least she doesnt sound annoying like those high pitched lardkiyan!!!

Should be able to tell by the name...Mukherjee is a Bengali name...Plus she speaks beautiful Bengla as in the cameo appearance in the movie 'Ram'(?) with Kamal Hasaan.

Bengali (I think we've all figured that out) and she is Kajol's cousin (yep, we all got that) and Kajol's mother is Tanuja - she was a pretty big actress in the late 60s and early 70s. Tanuja was in Guide, Main Aur Mera Haathi and some other films with Rajesh Khanna. She (Tanuja) was actually the first woman to play opposite Amitabh Bachchan in a very dreadful film called Parwanna. Rani is OK when it comes to acting, dancing and looks. She does not do it for me; she is good but she would never break into the Hollywood market. I just don't think our desi actresses are all that well qualified. Most have never studied acting and learn on the sets. They are good in relation to their desi peers, but lets me serious, you think she is anywhere close to talent like Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Rene Z., or even Jodie Foster.

She was absolutely amazing in Black.Shes actually Hollywood material. she can pull off being hot and sexy as well as simple. After Black she is def my fav.I had totally lost faith in indian movies till BLACK. So if you guys havent seen this movie yet be sure to check it out!!!!

yea ok she's not rail thin but hey i like the fact that she's more on the average side and is not unrealistically beautiful, it makes her acting all the more real to me. i like the fact that she does all types of different roles. I real liked her in Black.

she used to have HUGE issues with her weight. she was hella fat in that one song she did in MANN. she loses and gains weight a lot, but i guess she's keeping off the weight these days and she looks good. my sister has always liked her from her very first movie RAJA ki aye gi barat... and also, she does have a "perfect" smile.

i liked chalte chalte and saathia... btw, CUPCAKE: if she did a 360, wouldn't she be back at the SAME place she started? lol. sorry. i just wanted to point it out cuz ppl always say 360 when they meant to say 180 and it cracks me up. hehe :)

yes I went to the temptation concert at Nassau Coliseum. Rani and Pretty Zinta, they both looked gorgeous, and performed very well on stage. Both of them are just great.

i always liked rani but yeah she was a lil chubby in kkhh but after chalte chalte i believe..she completely did a 360..i think rani is def very pretty..she was so cute with vivek oberoi in saathiya..

she looks damn hot in Black too..j/k ;) i think rani acts a lot better than she looks..she's got a lot of talent, and if covered up with enuff makeup, she can look hot..she has looked her best in Chalte Chalte and Hum Tum....
