Where to live in or around L.A.?

I will be moving to L.A. for work. If anyone could kindly recommend some family oriented areas (close to schools, parks, low crime, etc.) to look for housing please let me know.

It's all good bro. I still have a lot of things to work on in my own apt before I have a big par-tay over here in my pad. Trying to make my own version of MTV cribs for the apt life style ^__^

I barely got my projector setup and need to run wire for all the AV equipment/ Need to order a TV tuner and setup my Media Center box so I can do everything from my living room with at least 100 inch TV. bling bling ;)

My rent is $1400 for a 2bd/2ba/2 parking spot, apt. It's fairly decently roomy... but i have lived out here for ages. Plus I am near Santa Monica and you are looking more near Griffith Park area.

Adjacent areas to your zipcode that you can look at are Pasadena, Arcadia, Monrovia, Glendale, or Hollywood.

Fazman thanks Ill check out the link. My office will be in the 90068 zipcode. Looking to rent (2000$ or less) or buy. It seems nothing nice less than 500K is available from what Ive heard. Not sure if its worth buying a house in this market if prices are inflated to the max.

No worries... glad to help out. If you have some details on what you are looking for... i can probably help guide you to much better resources on your research.

A place to start to get a feel for an LA area:
Linky --> www.playavista.com

LA is a big place... If you can narrow down to what city (or zipcode) you will be working in, that would help give an idea of where you might want to consider.

Looking for housing... does that mean to rent or to buy? Which price range? You have a lot of choices in LA and a lot of things you can compromise on as well to have trade-offs on (depending on what is a higher priority criteria, to your personal needs).
