great game. france was the better team the second half as well as during the last 30 mins. but it was very stupid of Zidane to do what he did no matter what the other player had said. he had a chance to go down in history with his last game... and he played very well.. but now has this incident as a stain on his record... and that too in his last big game. its quite sad.

i agree. go France!! Zidane and the rest of the team played well but i think they still got lucky with the penalty as they didn't play as well as they had with Brazil. Portugal had more chances overall but just couldn't finish. otherwise they were good. but France will need to play their full potential if they are to win.... but go France... go Zidane!!!

France definitely outplayed Brazil and deserved to win. it was an exciting game towards the end but overall Brazil for some reason weren't playing the way they used to. France's defense was great as well. but never thought Brazil would be out!

but stick with it Osama.... its still fun now we at least know that everyone has a good chance since the gloaith isn't there : ) .... and it might just be Germany's turn being that they have home field advantage. but if France continues to play the way it did today, Zidane is sure to leave the stage on the top.

Portugal vs. Brazil... would have been interesting!

its always the battle of nerves with the penalties...and makes the goalkeeper's job all the more important. Glad England is out!!mwahahahhaha!Happy with the 4 teams goin into the semis...coz brazil didnt play well. We'll see if germany's goin to win!

I cannot believe Brazil's out. They played horribly and France totally took advantage of that. I was SO hoping for a Portugal v Brazil match like the Nike commercial!!

Yes a very ugly match. Yellow cards left and right. The Dutch displayed some very poor sportsmanship. Shoving and pushing without the ball in play. WTH????? Did anyone see the Dutch dood shove the Portuguese player out of the way while he was helping the fallen Dutch guy? Idiot Dutchman.

The Portugal v England match will be something to see. They faced each other 2 years ago in Euro 2004 where Portugal won in penalties. The famous encounter was in 1966 where England won in the semi-finals with a very controversial call on one of Portugal's goals... THE BALL WAS IN!!!!!

I think the whole world will be shocked silent if Ghana beats Brazil tomorrow. But I'm hoping for an exciting match.

I'm with you, Simplysami. I like the U.S. squad and was disappointed, but it's high time an African country wins. I couldn't see the game :( but this w/e should be great!
