Algerian women's football team defeats Lebanon 12-0
21/04/2006
The Algerian football team defeated Lebanon, 12-0, in the first official Arab Women's Championship, which is currently under way in Alexandria, Egypt. On Friday (21 April), Algeria will face Morocco in the quarterfinals. (APS)
I'd love to hear about what the members think about England's chances?
Don't want to offend any England supporter here, but what I find hilarious is, WHENEVER an international tournament comes around, the media, and the fans too, get SO hyped up, that they're almost sure they'll win it, and I repeat, ALWAYS, no matter how weak the team may be, and it's the same now.
Though they're a better team, than say, 4 years ago, but winning the world cup? England? Come on!
Oh, first leg games tonight!
Wins for Uruguay and the Swiss, as well as the Czechs.
The Czechs were unlucky to lose out in Euro 2004, might be able to spring a suprise this time around.
man how i wish i could go to a game! just one game in my lifetime and i'll be set! any1 got any tickets they wanna give me? my b-day comin up hint hint!
Trinidad-Bahrain should be interesting. The return leg is in Bahrain and my buddy in Port Of Spain said no one would be travelling 'cos there's no booze there..lol
We made it! just about despite a 4-0 win over Cyprus but it's the draw between Ireland and Switzerland that saved us. Now to be faire, it could have been a 8-0 win had Cisse and Dhorasoo not missed so many opportunities
LF: It's going to be a tough game as France needs to win with a strong goal difference to be safe and sound but even so I have to be honest and say that the state of the team as it is now, I doubt we could make it even to the quarters!
Nadia...Cameroon lost out to Ivory Coast after a missed penalty against Egypt. On the one hand, it'll be nice to see new teams coming out of Africa but I'll miss whatever crazy idea for a jersey Cameroon comes up with.
Well, tomorrow we'll find out if we (France) make it to the WC, depending on how we do against Cyprus. Switzerland or Ireland will be the other team joining us from this qualifying group
