I did read the title, and I posted in the right village.

I was responding to several people who had bad experiences with their Quran teachers - I have the most sympathy and empathy for them, and nothing but disgust for teachers, that too of Quran, who behave in such abhorrent ways.

But I did want people to know that there are good Quran teachers as well. I just owe it my Maulvi Sahib, who was a true angel on earth, if there ever was one.

My Quran teacher was the most decent person I have ever met in this whole wide world. May Allah Bless his soul. He also worked at a Mithai shop and when we would pass by his shop, he would make special treats for us.

All his life, he saved to go to Hajj. The year he was selected (in those years, Pakistani Government had quotas on Hajis), the price went up by a few thousand rupees and he couldnt go. He refused to take any money from anyone to make up the difference. I think Allah would reward him for many Hajjs, since if you go by his intentions, that is the single most important thing he wanted to do, and only by using his Halaal earned money.
