Who/What determines what is considered "Tall"?!


I'm 5 feet 9 and don't consider myself that tall.....tall to me is anyone above 6 feet (for a guy or girl). The only time I really feel tall is when I'm at a desi gathering because I tower over most of the women and am the same height or taller than most of the man. I think this has more to do with the fact that desis in general are rather short, and not that I"M exceptionally tall :P

Is there some standard for determining who is considered tall?! Should it be based on average heights which we all know differs based on ones nationality?! Why is a certain height considered tall if you are a girl but short if you are guy?! Just some of my thoughts........

I am 5'8"/5'9" and all the aunties compliment me on my height at Desi gatherings, which is cool at first but gets a bit one-dimensional after a while. Sam, I also hang out with mainly goray people and am just slightly taller than average when I'm with them.

According to you then Arzee......I would be a cocunut :P HOnestly though, I hang out mostly with gorai people and majority of them are around my height....or just slightly shorter so around them I feel average. Just on a side note.....I was on the bus this morning and there was a whole group of chinese tourists that came in while I was standing.....and I swear i felt like one of those amazon warrior women. They are JUSt sooooooooo unbelievably tiny. I don't understand cuz chinese babies are SO DARN cute and big and FAT. I guess they must stop growing at the age of like 3 :P
