Why is it people don't like Memons?


Could it be because we have problems communicating?

I believe people 'don't like Memons' because of Memon culture. I have Memon family in Karachi and most of them have all these horrible traits.... most of which are very typical of desis in general, but from what I've observed, it's worse in Memon culture. I could list these, but I don't want to offend anyone :) Having said that, I have Memon friends who disapprove of a lot of customs and choose to marry a non-memon so that they can get away from the whole thing. Not a very nice thing to say about ones ethnic background, I know, but I'm just telling you what i've heard! :)

I am Bantvali but my family is from Bantva. Nothing wrong there.

May be because Memons keep there social network within themselves and dont open up to people.

I just read regarding the memon community, I belongs to memon community called Bantva perhaps in last post some one pronounce it bantvali the correct word is bantva.

Yeah, I think it's just a different way of spelling it and pronouncing it.

I'm Bantvali, so you can add that too your list of where Memon's come from. Also, your Memon history was cool. Not the story I've heard but that doesn't mean it's wrong by any means.

GoldPhool, actually, a lot of ppl mentioned that a lot of ppl hate Memons. I dont think that is true. Being a Hydro, sometimes I feel like people of a 'certain' region hate us for whatever reason. But, I dont think I am low caste and for somone to think of that of another muslim is very wrong. Btw, I like Memons especially the wild ones. ;). J/K

You know, I don't think that could be it at all. Seeing as I am willing to TALK TO MY SELF so my village has at least one journal entry that's being read!
