women older than men


i was talking to my friend about this subject this morning and i thought of posting it here to know how do libyan ppl look at it ..
it's about men getting married to women who r older than them ?!!.i don't really see that in libya and if it is there then may be they r very few !!..

here is the update ...ok my friend got engaged ..her parents liked him so much and they said ok she and he r so happy ..honestly i can't believe what is going on and at the same time i'm happy for her ..she is nice and he is nice too ...i just wanted to wish them all the luck and that u all for ur comments ...THANKS ALOT ...:) ...LU

OMG..........sonic the hedgehog.....OH MY GOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWH.......th at's really fun...I miss the good old days...I remember I loved Sega. But the whole X-box and play staiton i never got into them. I love computer games...you guys need to buy ROLLER COASTER TYCOON....it just doesn't get any better than that......and its not for little kids wallahi.

u r totally right about the NO ...i mean i'm sure that they'll say when she first say his age and they'll go like (HAVE U LOST UR MIND OR WHAT ?) and the mother will say (WHAT R U LOOKING FOR .?WHAT WILL THE WOMEN SAY ? THAT MY GIRL CAN'T GET MARRIED TO A NORMAL MAN SO SHE IS JUST SAYING OK TOA YOUNGER ONE ?)..so as u can see they just say no coz of things i totally hate and can't understand ..as i said before we r living more for what will the ppl say and think .than we r living for our selves ..i'm only saying this coz i really know how life is going here in libya and i guess even outside it's the sme for the libyans !!!!!

jazak Allah khair mis for reminding us about "redha ilwaleedayn"...wallahi you're so right. I think what i meant by 'fighting for it' is just not to take the first no as their final answer, especially if it's because of superficial reasons...wallahu a3lam. If girls took "no" for an answer min ilowwal, they never would've gone on to the 6th grade, married willingly, or become independent in any other way...lil assaf, i think a lot of parents say no for damn stupid reasons and it's a girl's haqq to point that out and try to change their minds.

2) the Ridha of the parents is soooooooooooooooooo important, she should fight for this guy if its what she really wants, but if her parents say no as a final answer, she should honour their wishes.

man this convo got interesting 1) playstation doesnt determine maturity levels...I would still play it if they had games like Super Mario and Tetris or Sonic the Hedgehog. And honestly better playstation with moderation than 'beseera' ukhra(telluride thanx for bringing that word back in my vocab). Although I think games with too much violence and badly dressed women should be banned.

fatima, all my cousins LOVE game boy in libya, lol@"do they know what it is?", 7abeebti they know EVERYthing, ma tagdaresh tadh7aki 3alaihom and get them a board game or something, they want all the latest technology, so yeah game boys should be a real hit :)

and why should they outgrow it? I haven't outgrown a lot of my childhood amusements...they've just sort been modified in a way. We played video games as kids because it was fun and made hot summer days seem less boring...and when we get older, we like the challenge and competition. I get insulted when ppl say things like "if he's still playing videogames, then he needs to grow up and get a life" because that's just ignorant...i know 24 year old men who are qowwameen 3ala ahaleehom and running family businesses and juggling a million other responsiblities, but still sit down to play halo2 every night. Anyway... arnoba, back to your schpeel...hunny if she's got her mind set on him and she thinks he has good akhlaaq and usool, then she should fight for the right to be with him (if her family refuses him b/c of his age). Also, she doesn't really need to istakheer, because istikhara is for decision-making and uncertainty...but it doesn't sound like she's "unsure" of him or whatever. She should probably pray salaatul-hajaah...if you need the du3a, I can email it to you insha'Allah. Ok, I'm done...hope you all have a barakah-ful jumu3a.

But seriously, i think even if a guy is considered a very mature and 'wa7id 3agil' they never grow out of the whole playstation thing...............off topic: is game boy popular in Libya? were thinking of getting it to one of my cousins but we're arguing if they know what it is over there.....arnoba?

SAM i didn't mean that el kbar dont' play it ..that was not my point ..i said like a little boy so it's not the same .. games r always fun for all ages but old men do not play it the way little boys do !!!..and about the GOD this i'm 100 % with in it ...my friend is so happy with him he is younger than her with 2 years he'll finish study now i mean this semester and he'll ask for her hand from his dad ..then we'll se what will happen?!! all i said to her was to pray istikhara and if her parents said no she has to know the reason and try to understand them but if the NO is only coz of the age thing i'm sorry she will have to talk to them and turn the NO into YES coz honestly in libya we have get out this way of thinking ..it's like we think of ppl feore ourselves by the time it's all about us !!!!!!!GIVE ME A BREAK

that reminds me...what's up with all these dudes who stay up to 5am to play x-box live? is that tabee3y? cuz that's like freaks who stay up all night chatting... seriously?? read a book, bake some brownies, plant a garden, do some sit-ups... something... anything else.
