wu tang...

what da deal everyone. just wanted to start another interesting discussion here. we all argued for over a month over the greatest hip-hop album of all-time. some liked cuban linx, liquid swords, chronic, illmatic, and many others. NOW, lets flip the script, and vote on who, in your opinion, is the best MC from the clan. im not asking who's your favourite, or the most poplular memeber, but who is the most talented from them...

...the start it off, my choice boiled down to gza and inspectah. after some hard thought, i had to go with the man they call genius...

it's hard to say. but inspectah deck has always stuck out to me the most. here's why:

musclebound sounds surround commercial thugs.
rock turtledove bowery suits and purple gloves.
me and you can have some fun make it a blast,
you couldn't take the impact with steel shoulderpads. blood for blood, veteran, covered in mud,
wounded in the midst of war still tradin slugs,
gettin major love.
Way above you newcomers.
I come thunderin with the heat of two summers,
when I enter the zone.
Move mountains with the presence alone,
before the words rip through the microphone.
chrome dipped lyrics are known to split stone.

yeah....that's exactly what the problem with GZA is - he couldn't evolve with the progression (if you can even call it that) of hip hop. but during the height of wu's dominance, GZA was teh shyt. your absolutely right about ghostface; and meth for some reason said that tical was his worst album lyrically (apparently he said he wasn't able to express himself), which is insane - after liquid swords, that's my favorite wu album.

each year the clan had a different top mc,
93-94 Tical/GZA--> both albums did them justice
95-raekwon-handsdown-->Cuban links-->incarcerated scarfaces
96-tical--> how high plus numerous other appearences incuding salassi-igh with cappelton
97-INS and tical,

problem is Gza can't rap over the present beats, his era was Liquid swords and he didn't evolve as an MC. Tical lost his voice after Realease Yo' delf, but still kept it up untill Wu-tang forever. INS has the a sick flow but ain't really sayin much any more cause he lost his passion. Reakwon went senial and raps complete giberish unfortunatley. Rza went hollywood with his producing at thats for the best, U-god/cappadona/mastakilla-->lets get real niggaz. at the end of the day and as much is i hate to admit it Ghostface is the most evolved mc though that really doesn't say much now does it.

12'O clock isnt in the Gravediggaz, hes in the Brooklyn Zu, he is the younger brother of Ason Unique(ODB).

Wu tang hasnt died, more so they have expanded. You just have 2 decipher the lyrics from their albums.

most of the wu dynasty is all family, rza, gza, odb are all cousins and many more behind the scenes.

The most Popular member by far is the M E T H O D mannnn... but now he is soo commercial so his music isnt as good, but the poeplez love him

I thnk I a gree with sameer a little bit. I like U God, I think he's got the coolest voice. Its pure and its raw. Ive met the kat too, and he is MAD chill.

Ghostface is my least favorite out of all them, He has lyrics but I dont like his delivery, but I liked his old school..his alubm "supreme caliente" was hot though.

The Original memebers of the clan are GZA, RZA and the ODB. GZA use to go to Staten Island and hear the emcees battel, and the come back and tell the RZA and ODB. Than they started spittin in the same manner.

I think Wu Tan has died out now though. They arent as hard as they were before. The best album they had was 36 Chambers. After that , slowly by slowly things got weaker. I think The Clan is being upheld by other kats like Masta Killah (one of my favorites), 12 O'clock (gravediggaz memeber and ODB's brother), Sonz of Man, are there are a few more. Even though they have declined a bit, All I gotta say is.............

WU TANG CLAN AINT NOTHING FAWK WITH!

Samir man...U-God? his flow is annoying. i was just listenin to enter the wu-tang the other day, and man...gza kills it; as prince said - he's the head (method said that too). rza even said that the best album he ever produced was liquid swords. although amir and arabgirl - can't go wrong with ghostface and the chef. at first i didn't like ghost; but over the years, he's grown on me and proved to be the most versatile member, and he's still pretty active in the hip hop scene. and kwon; everytime i hear/see him i just crack up. oh yeah, a couple weeks ago, inspectah was supposedly in mtl. me and a few friends went to check it out, but they screwed us bad - made us buy tics and then told us he got stopped at the border!!!

all 9 of them, but GZA is the head since he taught most of them on rhyming.

No question it's between Raekwon and The Gza. I would give the edge to Rae cuz he is more versatile and can flow to almost any beat, with any featured artists, fast, slow, whatever. It's very close but the tie goes to Raekwon.

Oooh good question!

My personal favorite has always been Ghostface, so Ima have to agree with Samir. But GZA is a pretty damn close second.

Man this is a tough one, i like all of them especially INS and even U-Gods unique rapping style, but my favorite for sure is Ghostface man..I think his flow has always been sick, and even till now he's keepin the Wu name somewhat strong with his albums which are all good.
