Hi my dear OC people!
My relative is visiting from overseas and I need some tips on shopping in LA area.
Does anyone know where the down town (really good deals) shopping street is in LA?

:)

If you do make the trek into Downtown LA... you should also come out to some of the local LA events we have in the SoCal village. It's usually mixed company of guys and girls.

Anytime Fazman, my common name here is t3mah by the way or Amora, it is all good.

So I found out the directions and more info about the LA down town shopping district.
Directions: From San Diego, take the 5 (of course North)--> 10 west --> Exit Los Angeles Blvd--> GO SHOPPING
Details: shops close at 5:00 PM and on Sundays

Wow... I never knew it was so invovled. I have to give it to u... girls are different shoppers then guys. But u know it's strange, the girls i go with usually shop in the same way I do. Go in a store look around to see whats there and if they like it... buy it. If not... leave.

But I understand what you mean now... thanks for pointing it out Amora. =)

Fazman, shopping is a hobby for women not a duty like most guys view. For females shopping involves many different activities that males don't even think about. We shop to get fashion trends, to look for hot deals, to decide witch color and witch stitches look better on a shirt!!! Then if we like what we see( while browsing) we either go to minimum three different shops to finally buy it or we just realize we don't really need that item to be an addition in our closet and move on to a different item.

I picked up a bunch of nice Dress shirts from the Gap Outlet last weekend in Cabazon for $10 each (normal price is $40). Nice try umberk...

The other female friends I was with loved the gucci bags at rock bottom prices that they picked up as well (but then again I'm not sure if that is the same kind of shopping u might do in the Promenade at full price?).

Just look at the listing of the stores for Cabazon or Camarillo. Some shops are not in both locations, like BR.

I have a question for you girls... does shopping to girls mean just browsing or actually buying stuff? When guys shop... we know what we want and just go get those things. The girls I shop with usually go with a few grand in hand and just drop a coin once a season and buy a bunch of nice things in one shot. But some how I get the feeling the girls here are mostly just browsing only... if that's the case... then I think the Grove or Promenade might be a better scene for that kind of activity.

true but those are standard boring shopping mall...nothing delights the tourists more than the Promenade! Shopping advice from a guy is bound to be doomed

OMG, u girls don't know how to shop in SoCal *tobah tobah*

If you really wanna take someone shopping for good stuff AND get GREAT deals (like any true desi would love) then you need to hit up either Carlsbad, Cabazon, or Camarillo.

Linky --> www.premiumoutlets.com

Check out the listing of stores at each location prior to choosing which one you want to make the trek out to.
