u gotta think on the US side first. BUSH cannot invade texas if he wanted to. hes gotta worry about keeeping the republicans in congress in next year's midterm elections. and he WILL NOT do that by taking the country to war after the last 2 wars (iraq and afghanstan) were found to be based on wrong data.

Congress is already on his assss holding late night sessions to investigate teh wrongfulness of the war (judith miller, cheney etcc). so he has NEITHER the moral support, nor the Congress backing nor the public encouragement.

ON THE IRAN SIDE:

Sure, many Iranians have made similar remarks, but they were ALL CLERICS. What?s different this time is that a HEAD OF STATE makes such a remark abt isrl. It was NOT mistconstrued, or misinterpreted. The man does NOT shoot from the hip. He?s smarter than u dare to think. His defiance speaks volumes as it is SHAPING THE GLOBAL BALANCE OF POWER before our eyes. He fully knows he?s got Russia and China in his pocket while the US has nothing left in its pockets as it?s outstreched in iraq and afghnstn.

Everybody knows Ukraine sold some 20 nuclear capable cruise missiles to Iran while russia sold them surface to air missile.

Meanhwile Chinese are signings all sort of energy exploration deals left and right with iran? drilling and producing petrochemicals/gas u name it. China?s investmt in iran's enrgy sector seen surpassing $100 billion over the next 20 yrs. last year, china became iran's TOP EXPORTS MARKET

When uve got these powers on ur side u can afford to say anything u want. and never mind whether ahmidnijad has the full nuclear set up or not. It don?t matter. What matters is to prove to the world the Washington?s inability to act. 4 yrs ago, only clerics could say stuff like that in Iranian mosques. Today, it?s a just appointed noncleric who says that.
