My stand is as follows: I am definitely pro-choice for cases like incest, rape etc. I used to be more inclined towards the pro-life side, but it had to do more with my upbringing rather than knowledge. I am not so sure since I dont know how life is defined. Another ambigous issue. I am more inclined on the pro-life side on this. But sentences should be very tough, and used to teach the murderer about the value of life. People should be taxed enough to pay for legitimate working of state and no more. I am opposed for Tax money going into unnecessary wars etc. Welfare should be given to only those who prove that they are trying to make their life better and not being parasites to the society. I am all for gun control. Gun Licenses should only be granted to responsible people who cant do without them (say a rural resident fearing wild life). A state should only use force when directly threatened. So the war in Iraq was highly unjustified. Well, Immigration is fine unless it causes hardship for the states citizens. State should enforce strict border control and allow only those whose services are needed in the country. I hear a lot of people say that the illegal immigrants only take jobs that the Americans wont do. Even so, there should be a legitimate way rather than just crossing border. This issue should be looked upon rationally rather than using existing paradigm. I think the McCain-Kennedy bill is a good way to go about it, as there is no way they can deal with the current illegal immigrant population already here. Power should not be used to humiliate and abuse people, based on their profile. If someone fits a certain profile, they should be investigated humanely, rather than treating them with treating them rashly.
