has added a new journalIm sure all of you have a little sweet tooth hidng somewhere? I myself can sit and eat sweet stuff all day, no kidding! This past weekend I was in Detroit and happened to go to a place in Dearborn which was like no other :) SHATILA, by far, has the best sweet and desert stuff I have ever eaten! Im sure any of you reading this definitely agee with what I have to say. From baklava to ice cream and other Arabic sweets its the best stuff I have tried. So any of you in Arabyy Town (Dearborn), make sure you stop by @ Shatila. You will be glad you did!!! :)

has added a new journalI've got cousin and her family coming from MN (twin cities area) They are coming to visit us for the first time.. Can anyone tell me where to take them and what to do for fun?? Like is there any good arabic store or place to visit other than crappy metro park (sorry! they are from MN and they visited many places so to them its quiet crappy).. Please keep it around metro detroit (dont tell me go to ann arbor to have fun.. I've got exams these 2 weeks).. Make sure you give me address or direction to get there ..

Hello sister noor.. Thank you for the advices.. I was hoping to get something specific.. I know about Dearborn, but i was hoping to get direction and some idea which stores to visit.. I visited Renaissance center and there's nada in it (unless i'm mistaking.. but we used to eat there during my freshman year).. I know about Somerset mall .. its worthless compare to mall of America in st. Paul (close to my cousin's home).. I myself is a Chicago native.. that's why I'm asking..

Salaam,I am not originally from Detroit but I do know some places in Detroit that might be of interest to u and you family members visiting. Visiting Dearborn may be a good idea, full of ARAB stores,rsstaraunts, and other things. Make sure to visit Shatila for awesome Arab sweets and ice cream! Other than that you might want to stop by @ somerset mall in Troy, not to far away from Detroit just take 275 S to 696 E and this is a really fun place especially if you guys decide to do a little shopping and great restaraunts!!! :) Rennaisance Cntr in the Downtown area is also a nice place to go, especially if u guys are interested in a little sight-seeing. Other than that, I cant really think of anything else that might be interesting, since I my self am a Chicago native and find only some things interesting of MI. Hopefully, this should keep you guys busy , and will be fun.

Ok, whoever said Wayne County Airport (DTW) is bigger than O'hare is an idiot... I always end up getting a headache when I wud travel to Detroit's Airport I wud end up with a headache... Its so confusing and LONGGGG!!! OMG I would get lost and bored and tired and end up w/ a splitting heaacheee... Yea, so whoever said Detroit's airport is bigger than Chicago, u gotta be kidding me and yea not bigger the BORINGEST!!!
Yea, so anyways whats with all the weird street names over there... Im sure know one's ever heard of those "MILE RD." things... I kno I havent, especially coming from Chicago and living here all my life u see the most unusual things when u cme to Detroit... lol
I have to say the one thing I liek most abt this boring state is sme of the houses in W. Bloomfield/ Farmington Hills. There awesome!!! OMG if I had a choice to have a house like that in Chicago I would but then again they have there uniqueness such a pretty area I Love it!!!
Oh and Somerset Mall... wow thats another place I could live at... Its so nice I think being there for a day wouldnt be enough!!! Thats liek 3 of Chicago's malls in one, how convenient!!!
Anyways, I look forward to another boring yet remebered experience in Detroit, and will right something new and fascinating soon... GO PISTONS!!! Still one of the best teams out there =)
