Only one person I truely admire to the every inch of his glory!

Stanley Wolpert on Jinnah -- "Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all the three.?

I know it's Quaid's village but recently I saw this great movie about two Afghan refugees trying to go to London through land(Pak, Iran, Turkey etc) illegally and it's directed so amazingly real that this fictional piece seem so real that it's scary.

Sadly there are so many kids who fall in this trap every year .....

Name is In This World ...trailer is at www.imdb.com

Ok I saw it over the weekend and I wasn't disappointed at all. It def wasn?t what I was expecting, a traditional freedom tale with big speeches and finger pointing; it had a nice theme to it. Life of Jinnah, with an effort to show his thinking behind things he did. I liked that ? though acting could have been a little better. It appeared to be quite un-bias and nicely directed. Wasn?t very detailed and not well written, kind of confusing if you don?t know the history.

This movie however, successfully showed that he was a visionary, who even in early 90s lived righteously and portrayed progressive islam with utmost guts. Sadly, we fall prey to people like Liaqat Ali Khan and others to follow after him and till this day we are struggling.

I admired the fact that Mountbatten was clearly identified as the culprit for creating problems between India & Pakistan and the bloodshed to follow after separation. Unfortunately we don?t read that in textbooks!

Yeah I have... Disappointing. Both the characters (young and old) werent upto the mark, some scenes are touching but of course when you talk about Quaid , deep emotions are given by default. At times the movie somehow gives an impression of a comedy one..
But you should watch it. You may perceive it differently. I may watch it again to see some other good things which I may have missed.

I liked the drama serial "Jinnah se Quaid" better. I dont know if you understand urdu but thats definitely a closer version to the seriousness of the matter.

"Jinnah is the most important man in Asia because he can sway the battle this way or that way as he chooses. His 100 million Muslims will march to the left, to the right, to the front, to the rear at his binding and nobody else?s - that is the point. If Gandhi goes, there is always Nehru, or Rajagopalchari, or Patel or a dozen others. But if Jinnah goes, who is there?" (Beverly Nichols, British author and reporter, 1943)
