has added a new journalOk so yes... I?m an ABCD... BUT I?m going to Pakistan for the first time in 15 years (last time I went was in 1990 and I was 10 and all I remember is getting sick at my uncle?s wedding).
We will be traveling to Islamabad and Lahore?
so... What do I need to take?
Will I really get that sick?
Are all the horror stories about the marketplace really true?
How much cash should one have onhand?
Do you have to keep your passport with you at all times
Can I wear jeans and a t-shirt or do I have to cover the whole time I?m there?
And please... I?m looking for constructive information... this is not your opportunity to bash on me because I haven't been "home"... dude I?m from ATL... this is a trip...
BUT... I am REALLY REALLY excited!

has added a new journalDear All,
Many of us have been left shocked by the devastating events occuring in Pakistan.
Though the immediate emergency relief funds that have already been donated are incredibly important, these people also need us to help rebuild the communities that they have lost. We intend to raise money for emergency relief- towards shelter, medical supplies and safe drinking water. Pick up any newspaper, watch any news report and you will hear the phrase 'A whole generation is lost', many of those that lost their lives were schoolchildren attending classes. For those that survived, for those that are not old enough yet to go to school- lets help them towards a better future. It is for this reason that we are also proposing to raise funds on behalf of Learning for Life, a charity which funded the construction of 16 schools that have now been destroyed after the earthquake.
We're organising a charity dinner and auction with some musical entertainment thrown in for good measure and maybe even the odd celebrity... ooohhhh.... ! Tickets will be on sale shortly.... but please please please keep the date in your diary and your cheque books and pens at the ready! Already those of us organising the event have been astounded at the generousity of those we contact. If you know of any companies that would like to get involved in our endeavour through sponsorship or potential auction items, please get in touch.

has added a new journalWell, with the grace of Almighty Allah most of the people on this website are well off as far as wealth is concerned. We should share this wealth with our brothers and sisters in the time of need. The wealth does not have to be monetary, It can be your clothing that your not using, or anything that you feel will help them in this dire sitauation. I encourage, and call out all of our brothers, and sisters from all faiths to get together and help these people.
