if there was a dodgeball tournament between duran duran and the cure, which band do you think would win, and why? keep in mind that each band consists of five aging males.

No contest, The Cure takes it. They have inspired so many bands and have a loyal following. Duran Duran on the other hand was too mainstream and nostalgic. No comparison, The Cure had their own look, style, and did not give a care about what was popular.

Oh yeah, check out a band called "The Bravery" if you like Robert Smith type vocals.

o i think duran duran would win hands down, i mean the meaning to their lyrics for most of their songs are pretty deep n meaningful,so theyd probably have a good brain for tactics in a game of dodgeball:) lol

hmm...he surely did...but it seemed more apparent with the cures....haha....thats how i have remembered them, perhaps first look and impresssion form childhood days....
but over all duran duran was much better...appparentely, their last album, The astronaut was not bad, conisdering the fact that they were famous in the 80's only. Dont you guys thing we shoudl do something to revive the good music?

Came in from a rainy Thursday,
On the avenue
thought I heard you talking softly,

I turned on the lights the tv and the radio
still I cant escape the ghost of you

What is happen to it all
crazy some say
where is the life that i recognise
(gone away)

but I wont cry for yesterday
theres an ordinary world
somehow I have to find
and as i try to make my way
to the ordinary world
i will learn to survive

papers in the road side tell of suffering and greed
feared today
forgot tommorow
ooh, here beside the news of holy war & holy need
our is just a little sorrow talk

but I wont cry for yesterday
theres an ordinary world
somehow I have to find
and as i try to make my way
to the ordinary world somehow I have will survive

(everyworld is my world)...

true, but they are not doing as good as they did when they were popular,.......althought duran durans last album was fine, but depeches mode was ok....i went to huey lewis and the news concert:) but it was a small once since i live in Richmond:) well, as for other bands making a come back, like Aerosmith, Kiss etc. they are not able to perform as before...its sad....but true...i wish we ocu.d do somthing to revive the old music and get rid of the new trash. You know what? here atleast when u go out to shops etc, u get to hear the old bands, but in Pakistan, they just play the new trash,,,,hardly ever the old stuff and the old only include the most popular, main stream songs.....

i really like how all the old bands are starting make a comeback...i mean we have U2, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, and ofcourse, Depeche Mode that all came out with new albums! What i DONT like are the punk FOG's (fresh outta the garage) bands..i mean some are cool but the majority are one hit wonders....
