has added a new journalso i watched the movie 'closer' (jude law, julia roberts, natalie portman, clive owen) this evening... there was a scene with clive owen and natalie portman in a strip club where they played three fantastic tracks back to back... 'dark escape' by midival punditz, 'smack my b*tch up' by the prodigy, and 'how soon is now' by the smiths. i haven't listened to these tracks in a while, so it was good to listen to them once again, especially as background music in a motion picture setting.

Anonymous Society - the ground-breaking company who achieved critical acclaim in 1999 with their inspirational take on the works of the singer-songwriter Jacques Brel - make their anticipated return to the Lyric.
Using twenty songs that were originally performed by The Smiths, they present an original piece of music theatre, with six performers and a live string quartet. The show draws on the mood, wit and passion of the writers? words and music. A magnifying glass is held up to the unravelling relationships of four women and two men. A story as uplifting as it is achingly devastating.
