i agree - he's totally psychotic. anyone that wants to represent himself in court who is clearly guilty is clearly crazy! and the clips of him walking to and from court with a big smile on his face just prove it..... just what we need!

i dunno but that dude was an idiot. why do these freaks always make life difficult for the rest of us? i figure UNC is one of the most tolerant and supportive campuses in the nation. then some crazed lunatic plows through the Pit in an SUV, and says he's avenging Muslim deaths.

loved our victory saturday nite even more! i tell folks here in dc about tobacco road, the rivalry, the teams...no one else has anything else to compare it to.

and to beat 'em at home....wow! i hope we dont lose our freshmen TOO early...watch out cos the heels gonna be unstoppable in '07...

well i lived in chapel hill for over 10 years, just down the raod from durham. i dunno if durham qualifies as a "nice beautiful town" but its not hickville either. i think there are a couple of hukka bars that have opened up. (if not there are some in raleigh) plenty of clubs. not much of an ethnic scene but its growing. you'll find a lot of quirky places there - odd bookshops, vintage antiques, weird eateries. has a reputation for being the "ghetto" side of the triangle (the triangle being raleigh, durham and chapel hill, together with surrouding towns that are all growing into one metro area) but that's probably because of old stereotypes of a city that has a majority black population.

for a change of pace, chapel hill is 15 mins away, and for yet more change of pace, raleigh is about 25 mins away. tons of young ppl (UNC is about 30,000, NC State is another 35,000, Duke is about 10,000). best place inthe country for college b-ball; 1 pro sports team.

but it ain't no thriving metropolitan area, though its growing fast (i think the triangle's population is about 1.3 million) won't find tons of desis in durham (like you can in cary) very affordable cost of living.

i think the basketball theme is a good idea just because it has always been such a huge tradition not only on campus but thruout the entire state. but you're absolutely right, i have no idea why jackie manuel's pic is posted. i was thinking more along the lines of, hmm let's see, has anyone heard of the name uh MICHAEL JORDAN before?? hello ppl? it may be true that pics of the well or the campus may be appealing to the eyes, but when ppl mention the name carolina, the 1st thing that comes to mind is carolina basketball, point blank. that's just my opinion, i could be wrong, what do u guys think?
