Asalaam Alaikum,

I'm not a UofMN grad but I will be coming to Bloomington/Minneapolis from Mon. 7/10 to approximately Wed. 7/19 for a business trip. Any cool Muslim/Desi events happening in the area?

Thanks,
Atif

Salam to All.
I will be in minneapolis from Jan 16th 2006 onwards on a project. I will be there for the whole year and was hoping to meet some locals who could help me out with the local muslim eateries , mosques and maybe find a fun hangout group.
Any advice is helpful.
I will be staying in Downtown. DoubleTree

Try the Minnesotans and MNProfessionals villages. They are much more active and lots of people there are looking to meet up with new people.

I recently came into contact with a woman in need of financial support this month. She is a Muslim Sudanese woman with an 18month old baby. Her husband left her and is not in the picture. She is proactively looking for
work, and is pursuing a legal resolution regarding the situation with her husband, but needs short term help. She has approached mosques for help and
unfortunately was turned away due to lack of funds. If you are interested in helping her, please drop me a line here and I'll get back to you.
Also, please help me spread the word by fowarding this on to anyone you think might be interested in contributing.
