  • Countryside boosts mental health Living in the country is better for your mental health than being a city-dweller, scientists have said. There have previously been mixed reports on whether the rural or urban living was more beneficial. Some studies showed higher rates of depression and suicides in urban areas, while others raised concerns over the effects of rural isolation. But this British Journal of Psychiatry study found people in the countryside do have slightly better mental health. The... Read More

  • It's a decent book...for some reason it was hyped up. Perhaps a very good marketing effort. I thought it would be one of those books loaded with mind boggling statistical revelations that blow you away! Instead I found myself revisiting the dull lessons of Quantitative 210 and 211 classes from way back in college and wishing perhaps I'd paid more attention. Favorite part was the analysis of the criminal gangs and how they operate. Cool stuff!

    January 5, 2006 at 8:18pm
bro, add 'khair' always to 'Jazak Allah', because the word 'jazaa' like that is neutral, so it would mean 'reward' as well as 'punishment', but adding 'khair' makes it clear tha...

  • Supposedly U2 refers to Jews and Muslims as "Daughters of Zion" and "Abraham's Son. But in reality, "Abraham's Sons" represents the super-set that includes both Jews and Muslims. "Daughters of Zion" on the other hand, corresponds only to the "Zionist" Jews - (which is also a subset of the Jewish world. Many reformist Jews do not agree with the mainstream Zionist ideologies). I don't know if I am making sense. It's late. Many of you may already know this but I just found out that "Yahweh" is the Hebrew word fo... Read More
