  • this has been brought up in two other villages, but i really see it as a philosophical (metaphysical) issue so I thought I'd post it here. 1.) Do you believe souls exist? If yes: a.) What is the nature of a soul? (essence? transcendent? etc) b.) who/what has them? c.) What is their relation to the body? If no: a.) Is there such thing as an individual or are we only different in our accidents? For all: does anything "live on" after we die? If so, is it "us"?

  • I love folding my cats ears. They look sooo cute. So, today I was sitting with them in my backyard and as usual... folding their ears. But, I did something different for a change. I folded them and gently rubbed the inside of their ear (right at the tip) with my index finger. They fell right asleep!! lol

    June 1, 2005 at 3:18pm
Cats are sort of tickelish around there. Try gently touching to the fur protruding from their ears--their ears will sometimes jerk involuntarily.
    May 31, 2005 at 7:16pm
ohhh that is sooo cute,i will try it but i think they ( my 2 cats ) wont like it. but they both love a tummy rub.hehehehe

  • I prefer a guy to say 'when can i take you...' or 'let me take you...' rather than say 'let's meet up' when being asked out. I also like it for a guy to decide where we are going and make the necessary arrangements. How would you normally ask a girl out? Where do you normally go?

    May 27, 2005 at 3:37am

  • OK this question is very similar to one of Miss London's earlier journals on who should pay on dates but my question is specifically on the FIRST date. I believe a guy should pay at least the first time depending on his budget. If he can't afford dinner, then he should take the girl where he can afford to pay for them both, eg cafe. Whilst dating, then I think its fine to take it in turns or go dutch. What is your opinion?

  • My recent trip to an Indian boutique left me quite bewildered at the fashion scene. First I am accosted at the diplay window by a hunky male mannequin wearing a bright red suit with gold embroidery complete with dupatta ...I am still trying to get over it... Then I find this gorgeous kameez shalwar in white chicken with the feminine and elegant look of sheer lace but I tell the sales woman i will need a size waaaaaaaaaay smaller than that and she goes..uh......umm...this is actually for men!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... • Forbes Magazine, which last year listed the "Worst Cars Of All Time," has issued a new list of what it calls the "Ten Worst Cars On The Market." The magazine said compiling this list was a bit more difficult, noting that most new cars are of better quality. Forbes said it made its selections based on three criteria: the worst crash test scores, the lowest projected reliability and the lowest projected residual values. Recalls did not become a factor, since the 2005 model year is too young for all the lemons t... Read More

  • I have a very good Bengali-American friend who is a 28 year old lawyer. She's very intelligent, a great conversationalist, and a super person all around. She's looking to settle down with a Bengali-Hindu man who's as intelligent, easy going and caring as she is. If you guys have any friends who fit the bill, drop me an email and we'll talk!

    August 1, 2005 at 11:19pm
It doesn't matter to her, but it does matter to her father, making the job that much harder.

  • I love this dish, I usually make it when we have guests over for dinner: -Put whole chicken in oven until light brown -Clean then strain frikiyi (you can get this at any middle eastern store) -Add frikiyi to pot with kemoon, fil-fil (i think thats all spice), cinnamon and salt. Saute with butter. -Add a bit of rice and fine burgul to frikiyi pot -Stuff the chicken with the frikiyi mix -Boil chicken until tender (add left over frikiyi mix to the water so it will be in the soup, not just in the chicken) -...
