Salam and Greetings to all in peace :) Scheming through the village journals here I have come to realize that the participants here are quite experienced and are filled with techy wisdom. Now as a fresh anticipating grad with no tangible experience in the IT industry, I am finding a hard time landing successful entry level job :P . My interest lies in database, web application development, Java (J2EE) and Network . Now beside posting your resumes on the hottest job board, attending career fairs, networkin... Read More

A man and a woman are riding next to each other in first class. The man sneezes, pulls out his wang and wipes the tip off. The woman can't believe what she just saw and decides she is hallucinating. A few minutes pass. The man sneezes again. He pulls out his wang and wipes the tip off. The woman is about to go nuts. She can't believe that such a rude person exists. A few minutes pass. The man sneezes yet again. He takes his wang out and wipes the tip off. The woman has finally had enough. She turns to the ... Read More

When you talk on your mobile/cell phones, USE your left ear because the veins which provide blood to our brain passes through our right side of skull, hence closer to right ear. Talking on mobile/cell phone from right side expose them to more radiation and can cause long term permanent damage. So , use your left ear and better, use a blue tooth ear piece.

Warm welcome to those of you reading about this village and to those who are joining. Just thought it was about time I created a village for those who really don't mix in with the traditional community crowd or just want to meet more like minded folks. Look forward to meeting you!

I saw Munich the other night. It was a good movie. I liked it. It had a very human element to it and some good dialogue. I thought at first it would take a incendiary stand on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It's actually a movie that reveals through the truth of its actions that political murder/assassinations even when it may be justified, is less a solution than a virus, one that infects the attackers as much as the enemy. It was better done than Syriana.

Orientalism 25 Years Later Worldly Humanism v. the Empire-builders By EDWARD SAID Nine years ago I wrote an afterword for Orientalism which, in trying to clarify what I believed I had and had not said, stressed not only the many discussions that had opened up since my book appeared in 1978, but the ways in which a work about representations of "the Orient" lent itself to increasing misinterpretation. That I find myself feeling more ironic than irritated about that very same thing today is a sign of how mu... Read More

Edward Said, Dead at 67 A Mighty and Passionate Heart By ALEXANDER COCKBURN A mighty and a passionate heart has ceased to beat. Edward Said died in hospital in New York City Wednesday night at 6.30 pm, felled at last by complications arising from the leukemia he fought so gamely ever since the early 1990s. We march through life buoyed by those comrades-in-arms we know to be marching with us, under the same banners, flying the same colors, sustained by the same hopes and convictions. They can be a thou... Read More

A few years ago, I spent New Year's eve at a hotel rooftop party in Granada. The hotel is on that winding road leading to the Alhambra which was all lit up. What a spectacularly beautiful evening. I have been to Granada 3 times and whenever I am away I remember that night and miss it terribly. Happy New Year to all those in Granada...Drink a toast to the glory of the Andalucian empire and think of me to.

Taken from www.smartmarriages.com "The number one predictor of divorce is the habitual avoidance of conflict. And what's sad is the reason we avoid conflict is because we believe it will cause divorce. It's like the cartoon where the couple explains to the marriage counselor, "We never talk anymore. We figured out that's when we have all our fights." In the beginning, we avoid conflict because we are so much in love and we believe that "being in love" is about agreeing. We... Read More

Everyone has an online perception...of how others see that person based on the person's JEs, etc. If you have ever taken a moment to ask someone you don't know how he/she perceives you based on your JEs, you may be surprised/jolted by the answer...or you may not. How do you perceive Naseebers based on their JEs? It would help us all learn a little bit about perception and how the "other side of the mirror" views us. Please be honest in your observations.

everyone! What are your thoughts on this topic? The following is taken from www.religioustolerance.org "FGM is a social custom, not a religious practice. However, in those Muslim countries where it is practice, FGM is often justified by a controversial saying attributed to the Prophet Mohammed that seem to favor sunna circumcision. The authenticity of these sayings are unconfirmed, and some scholars have refuted them. Even if true, they only permit the practice; they do not man... Read More

the following is straight from JKR's mouth, taken from her site: www.jkrowling.com "For 2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series. I contemplate the task with mingled feelings of excitement and dread, because I can't wait to get started, to tell the final part of the story and, at last, to answer all the questions (will I ever answer all of the questions? Let's aim for most of the questions), and yet it will all be over at last and I can't quite imagine ... Read More
