The city of Troy had withstood every challenge from the Greeks for 10 years, and it had proved impenetrable. Most of you know the rest of the story: the Greeks devised a wooden horse, hid soldiers inside, and graciously appeared to give it to the Trojans. They didnt brag, they didnt talk smack, they simply went in unannounced. Once inside the gates, they began their fight and took over the place. Southern Cals reign over college football had lasted for 34 straight victories. Networks and news media were poise... Read More

I'm surprised that so few people are talking about Hany Abu-Assad's acceptance speech last night at the Golden Globes. Though I respect his mettle to speak for a free Palestine at perhaps the largest pro-Israeli commingling of wealthy and powerful people, I was deeply disappointed that he did not take more advantage of the exposure to millions that he had in those few moments onstage. In fact, he fumbled his way around the name of the granting party (the Hollywood Foreign Press Association), and misconstrued ... Read More

Makes you think twice about ever eating meat again! Mad Cow: It is time to be organic and natural Before you feast on that carefully selected Halal burger from your local Muslim grocer, consider this disturbing statistic: 75 percent of Halal meat in America produced in the year 2000 came from pork fed cows, according to Dr. Stephen Emanuel, from Agway Feed Company. The story gets even worse in light of the recent discovery of mad cow disease. The first case ever in America was discovered in Washing... Read More

This is a Refutation of the "Jihad Asghar" claim: Among the erroneous notions aimed at stifling the spirit of Jihad in this Ummah is the idea of 'greater' and 'lesser' Jihads. According to this belief, striving against desires of the self is considered the Greater Jihad, which makes the Jihad of the battlefield the Lesser Jihad. This idea is based upon a story mentioned by Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi in his book, The History of Baghdad, by way of Yahya ibn al 'Ala', who said, We were told by Layth, on the author... Read More

Doctrine of the Imamate We believe that the Imamate is one of the fundamentals of Islam (usul ad-din), and that man's faith can never be complete without belief in it. It is wrong to imitate our fathers, family or teachers in this matter, even if we respect them, for it is just as necessary rationally to consider the Imamate as it is to consider tawhid and nubuwwah. If a man does not believe in it, and supposes that it is not a fundamental of Islam, he should, nevertheless, examine the concept of the Imamate, ... Read More
