  • i have couple questions on Shah, i will ask about khomini later. What were events leading up to the revolution and how did khomini gather support? Why do some iranis prefer shah's tyrannical rule over an islamic government? How did he die? I heard he slipped and fell in the toilet on the ground. Is this accurate? was shah pahlvi a freind of salman rushdie who wrote satanic verses book and did he support him? what was iran-us relations in shah's time? How was religion viewed in iran during shah'... Read More

  • so our ol' buddy vince was one of the founding members of depeche mode, and he also was the music mind behind yaz/yazoo. he seems to stick to simplistic (yet melodic) bleepy bloopy sounds... i haven't listened to anything by erasure in ages, but has his sound progressed over the years, or does it still sound the same? and is this the way that erasure fans want their erasure to continue to sound like?

    July 9, 2005 at 10:19am
my impression is that it is much the same, maybe the pace is a little faster here and there.
    July 9, 2005 at 1:12am
I had a hard time paying attention to the new album...maybe cos they have changed, or maybe it was my ADD.

  • I recently attended the ICNA (Islamic Conference of North America) in Connecticut, and it was a wonderful experience. There were a lot of beautiful and inspiring lectures, and I would like to share a few things. Not too long ago, I remember questioning my mother and a very close friend how if Allah loved us 70 times more than our mothers, He could make us go through pain-emotional or physical. Our mothers cannot see us in pain at all, and yet Allah made some people go through a lot. And here?s how Allah a... Read More

  • Cowboy in Church One Sunday a cowboy went to church. When he entered, he saw that he and the preacher were the only ones present. The preacher asked the cowboy if he wanted him to go ahead and preach. The cowboy said, "I'm not too smart, but if I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I'd still feed him."So the minister began his sermon. One hour passed, then two hours, then two-and-a-half hours. The preacher finally finished and came down to ask the cowboy how he liked the sermon. The cowboy... Read More

  • A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shrivel... Read More

  • would you jump with your friends :) ISTANBUL, Turkey - First one sheep jumped to its death. Then stunned Turkish shepherds, who had left the herd to graze while they had breakfast, watched as nearly 1,500 others followed, each leaping off the same cliff, Turkish media reported. In the end, 450 dead animals lay on top of one another in a billowy white pile, the Aksam newspaper said. Those who jumped later were saved as the pile got higher and the fall more cushioned, Aksam reported. "There's nothing we... Read More
