  • I must admit - I am one of those annoying people with a lot of pet peeves, but a;hamduliah they dont control my life (ie not OCD about them!) i can actually laugh about them ;) My biggest pet peeve is smacking or mouth sounds! I HATE it when I can hear someone eating anything - gum, apples (esp), or slurping soup. It makes me want to grab the person and just say "FOR THE LOVE OF SANITY, STOOOOOP PLEEEASE!" What's your pet peeve....?

    December 28, 2005 at 2:52pm
the way some people eat chips. I understand that its crunchy but why make it more loud than it already is by eating with your mouth open.

  • One of my favourtie quotes actually comes from the Bible: "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD" ~ Psalm 46 It is a very soothing quote and a reminder that we should realy be letting go of the steering wheel, that God should take hold of the reins in our life. I love it.

  • White Oleadner by Janet Fitch. I read this book in high school and then picked it up as an afterthought just last month again. I am definitely not a re-reader, but as soon as I skimmed through the first page of this book by accident, I was bewitched again. Fitch's writing is like silk; her ability to paint pictures and to make analogies is incomparable to anyone I've read before. "White Oleander" is the story of a young girl as she moves from foster home to foster home after her mother is jailed for murder.... Read More

  • Salamz. Any advice on getting an MPH would be greatly appreciated. As of right now, I was thinking about taking a yr off after this yr (i'm an MS3) to get it - but am still not sure if that's a good idea; is it better to do it during residency? is it even worth it? advantages/disadvantages? good programs w/ an int'l health focus, etc? Thanks in advance.

    August 12, 2005 at 9:45pm
MPH is a great idea if you want to pursue a career where it would be useful. e.g. if you want to go into academics, it would be helpful. On the other hand, most good universitie...

  • are these words we write nothing more than an outlet because we havnt learned to shout yet or are they suppressed emotions that havnt found their way out yet trying to find the right words, b/c they havn't reached our mouths yet because what starts as a thought slowly turns into spoken words but before we let them out, theyre the equivalent of a broken bird trapped in a cage, waiting to be free and heard and if kept for too long, it dies and the goes permenantly blurred I now watch that same bird as ... I appreciate all kinds of music, there are my favourites and some tracks that i like more than others. Also my favourites change all the time. I have so many favourites actually, chousing 3 cds to take with me to a desert island would be a nightmare for me! At the moment I'm in love with that latino hop hop I kept hearing in New YorK, I for... Read More
