  • THE BUSINESS OF TERROR US: a disputed history of identity By Edward W Said ANYONE with the slightest understanding of how cultures work knows that defining a culture, saying what it is for members of that culture, is always a major and, even in undemocratic societies, a democratic contest. There are canonical authorities to be selected and regularly revised, debated, reselected, or dismissed. There are ideas of good and evil, belonging or not belonging (the same and the different), hierarchies of value... Read More

  • We, The management of this dead village (RAS and Cheeni), have decided to post our disappointment towards our fellow DFW'ers. We cannot lie...we are hurt and sad, but like true troopers we will forgive you and give you another chance to extend y... Read More

  • Vick says he wouldn't mind playing with T.O. / Associated Press Posted: 6 hours ago FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Michael Vick wouldn't mind having Terrell Owens line up at receiver for the Atlanta Falcons ? as long as T.O. understands one thing. "This is my team," Vick said Wednesday. Besides, No. 7 already has provided a resounding response to those who criticize his passing numbers and deride him as nothing more than a freak of an athlete masquerading as a quarterback. Last week, Vick completed a se... Read More

  • In his speech to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan, he said: You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed ? that has nothing to do with the business of the State. Personally, he always advocated what today would be described as secular views. • Dear All, Many of us have been left shocked by the devastating events occuring in Pakistan. Though the immediate emergency relief funds that have already been donated are incredibly important, these people also need us to help rebuild the communities that they have lost. We intend to raise money for emergency relief- towards shelter, medical supplies and safe drinking water. Pick up any newspaper, watch any news report and you will hear the phrase 'A whole generation is lost', many of those that lost their... Read More

  • It appears that we keep continuing on old threads (journals) with titles such as F16, nick intros pertaining to the discussions that seem irrelevant. " Journal" title would be a better way to organize so we dont have to dig thru others. Look it's even Y2K compliant ;-)
