  • I'm selling one ticket to the Morcheeba show in D.C. at the 930 club on November 30 at 6pm (its an early show). I got it for $30 - if anyone wants it, they can have it for $25. I was planning on going to the show - but now have to leave earlier for a trip to southeast asia - not a bad alternative, but would have loved to see Morcheeba. Contact me through Naseeb - BEFORE NOV 22- if you are interested. - Shamila

  • Mukhtaran Mai & The Maulvi That Mattered by Saleem H. Ali Published: Nov 15, 2005 Initially she was so desperate and humiliated that she swallowed a bottle of pesticide, hoping for a merciful death but was saved in time. Her cries for help initially went unheard by urban women?s rights groups but a local mosque?s imam paid heed. Last week in New York?s Lincoln Centre, Glamour magazine gave an award to Mukhtar Mai who valiantly fought against an evil cultural practice and won the hearts of... Read More

  • This morning (Tuesday November 15th) I woke up early in the morning to make my way to the gym and it was snowing. Already!!! I like to prolong having to take out my winter jacket for as long as possible.....but I"m thinking that I'll have to take it out soon :( I hope it all melts and we get another Indian Summer. Hmmmmmm......maybe thats wishful thinking, lol! Despite it all.....I still love MY OTTAWA!!!

So last year, it was on November 5th (2005) that I reported the first snowfall in ottawa. This year the first snowfall was in October!!!!!! Can we expect that next year in 2007 ...

  • I love the film Lost in Translation. One of the over-riding themes is the sense of not belonging and the scene in the lift where Bill Murray is towering over all the native Japanese businessmen just really gets this point over in a sensitive, subtle and amusing way!

Sam77, Oh, so to make someone look taller the camera man needs to be close to the floor... I find that technique only makes the person look as if they have a double chin though!...

  • The quick notes below were an attempt to capture main names and key themes mentioned in the story to allow volunteer coordinators to best use this information to perhaps: 1. Reach out and support/thank those that are helping. 2. Identify and focus on what items that region still needs and perhaps direct efforts away from other items that not being used. 3. Use as reference/talking points to companies/organizations that may have also seen the report and might want to now offer aid/assistance. Just my pe... Read More

  • Sultan Suleyman The Magnificant. November 6, 1494 ? 5/6 September 1566, Suleyman in his time was regarded as the most significant ruler in the world, by both Muslims and Europeans. His military empire expanded greatly both to the east and west, and he threatened to overrun the heart of Europe itself. • well....all village members i am new to this village...but liked it much....here is something worth to see..... We all keep talking about Sahaba and their virtues and that we should respect them. But the real problem here between Sunni's and Shia's the defination of Sahaba.Sunni's are of view that all the people who did see Prophet(P.B.U.H) once, may that be for an instant should be called Sahabi and should be respeted. But Shia's believe that sahaba or companions are those who not only did see Prophet(P.B.U.H) b... The movie stars some new dude in the lead role (dont know his name) and some blonde white girl (she grows on you...she's cute). The movie also stars Bhoomika and Revathi along with Amitabh playing the father's role. Not only was the movie good but the soundtr... Read More
