Undoubtedly it is a sign of great misfortune and misguidance if a person?s faith is based on slandering the companions of the best of mankind (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or arguing about the disputes that arose among them, instead of occupying himself with doing that which will benefit him in both his worldly and spiritual affairs. No one should have any reason to slander or hate or bear grudges against the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Their virtues a... Read More

There is a hadith of the Holy Prophet(S.A.W.) that when you travel, you should give charity (sadqa). So is it not better to give the money of Imam-e-Zaamin before you go on your journey rather than when you get back, so that it may reach the poor quicker. It is said that the Sura of Tawheed (Sura Ikhlas) if written and cut into two halves, one given to the traveller and the other left at his home, will always come together again and so ensure the safe journey of the traveller. The king at the time of our 8... Read More

Place to Stay in NYC
Hello NYers. 2 Questions. 1. To get a job in NYC is it preferable that I give a NYC address? Should I be there already? I'm in Syracuse against my will and want out. 2. Is there any (female) willing to share their place for 2 - 3 weeks in exchange for $100/wk + errands? Email my naseeb account if you want further information. Thanks!

some of the sufi haters were bashing sufis and making takfir on everyone left and right, so i decided to address them in hope that they learn some tolerance. Anyways they decided to create this village and there is a discussion going on between them and me. yall are more than welcome to join and observe. My goal is to teach them tolerance and inshaAllah i seem to be accomplishing it.

In the previous journal, Aim786 mentioned: "Whenever someone quotes evidence, we must ask ourselves three questions before we accept it: 1-Is this evidence legitimate? Is it from the Qur?aan, authentic Hadeeth, or Ijmaa? of the sahaabah?" then he goes on to quote this teacher about the hadith of 'Uthman ibn Affan without asking him any of this question and merely blindly following (antethesis to the salafi manhaj) his opinion. Anyways, we'll overlook this short coming and discuss this hadith in detail. "... Read More

Assalamu alaikum, Can you please clarify what you mean by "ijma of the sahaba"? Is it like getting the concensus of every single sahabi (def of sahabi: a person who came in contact with the prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) or is it supposed to be understand that it was talking abouat the 7 sahaba who made ijtihad? Thanks.
December 12, 2005 at 9:42amijma of the sahaba..... I think in fiqh terms, it means the 7 closest sahabas. That is how I have understood it. Alalhu Alam, but you should checkto make sureDecember 12, 2005 at 9:38am... anyone? edit: I meant a MUSLIM (not person) who comes in sees the Prophet sallalhau alayhi wa sallam.
