FreeCycle.org is a great way to get Back2basics - nearly every community in the country and some elsewhere has a FreeCycle list where people give away stuff they no longer need for free instead of throwing them away or giving them to charities that would turn around and charge for them, etc. Getting a new sofa? Post your old one. New microwave? Ditto. Kids outgrow their clothes? Got some canned goods you're not going to eat soon? Too many stuffed animals? Buy the wrong part at the store and can't use it?
