  • Anyone know anything about GPS systems? In particular Garmin 3600 series?

    August 16, 2005 at 10:27am
Hey Ahsan, Your question is open ended. I'm assuming that you are referring to a handheld gps. What to look for in these units is WAAS technology, and the version of NMEA. T...

I believe the question was: Anyone know anything about GPS systems? In particular Garmin 3600 series?
    August 13, 2005 at 12:01pm
Yes, in my field GPS units are used a lot. I also have an interest in the technology. What is your question?

  • A few weeks ago I was listening to EBC Radio, 1060 AM out of New Jersey. It's a South Asian station, playing a range of old hindi classics, and some newer things, like Rabbi Shergil. They also have call-in shows, from reading horoscopes to real estate. The particular program I listened to was targeted towards South Asians in the area who wished to sell their homes. Half way through the program, a young man called in and gave some wonderful (and funny advice). Note: All of this should be read with a South As... Read More

I think what they want to emphasize by moderation is that they focus on Iman, but they also address other types of issues in the youth group activities and halaqas. For example...

  • I want so much to just pour my heart out, but I can't. It has nowhere to go - no one to tend to it. Every ink stroke I read, every flower bed I tend to - the only one who notices is myself - those who appreciate it is its own recipient. The only place my words now fall are on the ground - it could be the sky, it doesn't matter. The final destination of these words are of no consequence anyway.

  • Yesterday and Today The gold-hoarder walked in his palace park and with him walked his troubles. And over his head hovered worries as a vulture hovers over a carcass, until he reached a beautiful lake surrounded by magnificent marble statuary. He sat there pondering the water which poured from the mouths of the statues like thoughts flowing freely from a lover's imagination, and contemplating heavily his palace which stood upon a knoll like a birth-mark upon the cheek of a maiden. His fancy revealed to h... Read More

  • Fleas interest me so much that I let them bite me for hours. They are perfect, ancient, Sanskrit, machines that admit of no appeal. They do not bite to eat, they bite only to jump; they are the dancers of the celestial sphere, delicate acrobats in the softest and most profound circus; let them gallop on my skin, divulge their emotions, amuse themselves with my blood, but someone should introduce them to me. I want to know them closely, I want to know what to rely on.

    July 1, 2005 at 1:27pm
This poem gives me a whole new perspective on Fleas. This may help me in my present situation. The owner of the house whom I'm renting from this summer failed to notify me of th...

  • How neatly a cat sleeps, sleeps with its paws and its posture, sleeps with its wicked claws, and with its unfeeling blood, sleeps with all the rings-- a series of burnt circles-- which have formed the odd geology of its sand-colored tail. I should like to sleep like a cat, with all the fur of time, with a tongue rough as flint, with the dry sex of fire; and after speaking to no one, stretch myself over the world, over roofs and landscapes, with a passionate desire to hunt the rats in my dreams.... • Neruda's poem for brown children everywhere: Brown and Agile Child Brown and agile child, the sun which forms the fruit And ripens the grain and twists the seaweed Has made your happy body and your luminous eyes And given your mouth the smile of water. A black and anguished sun is entangled in the twigs Of your black mane when you hold out your arms. You play in the sun as in a tidal river And it leaves two dark pools in your eyes. Brown and agile child, nothing draws me to you, Everyth... Read More

  • This is an interesting article that I came across msn. I thought I post it for everyone to read. We as individuals need to be very careful with whom we choose to settle down with. After reading this, you might want to make sure you discuss your credit situation and be careful with joint credit cards, accounts, etc. It is very easy to live in lala land and not look at serious issues like your financial situation. You need to be protecting yourself financially if things do not work out in a relationship. S... Read More

  • What's the most scenic/reinvigorating/breathtaking . . . .you get the picture, run you've ever taken? I just moved to NYC, which definitely isn't the suburbs of virginia that I grew up in . . . so it's a bit disconcerting in that originally, I thought there was no open space for me to run. I was feeling a little nostalgic for home, but as it turns out, I live is right next to central park and what's called the 'track' right in the middle of the park. For the past week, I've been waking up during sunrise and r... Read More

  • "I think I might rank it as the best comedy of all times," says Los Angeles Times media critic Howard Rosenberg. "I just think it's out of sight. For me, anyway, it resonates in a way that other comedies haven't. I've never seen more bizarre characters." The show claimed to be about nothing, and nothing was too trivial to inspire an episode. The cast once spent the entire show trying to buy soup from an authoritarian chef. For its daring, its humor and the sheer strength of its characters, many believe t... Read More
