peace all i am running into a design problem and need some help from physicists electric-engineers and others in the know ? the problem ? what i require is to levitate a small sphere such that it is relatively stable ? i think i can do this by creating an electromagnetic field ? how do i calculate the force generated by an electromagnetic field? Is it true then for levitation that the force generated by the electromagnetic field then must counter the gravity acting on the sphere? which is the best mat... Read More

Just witnessed England torn apart in 7 second half minutes. For some reason Beckham and Joe Cole seem to think wingers play in the middle of the park; Ferdinand was practically non-existent, Lampard and Gerrard kept on getting in each others way and Ashley Cole should have been taken off and shot. This is the worst score-line I have ever seen. Perhaps Eriksson should decide between Gerrard & Lampard and throw in a real holding midfielder.

Ok, I know this is a touchy subject with the persians. Most persians I know live in orange county, CA drive Beamers, eat at Caspians, party in Long Beach, and love love love The Shah. I heard times were great under the Shah. Thats what my dad says, he was living there. My mom's side despises him, hates him, and says he was evil. My take: I think Empress Farah was beautiful, and I am totally enamored by royalty. I love pouring over their pictures, and even feel sorry for them sometimes. But the fact... Read More

If you enjoyed A Time Travelers Wife, I think you may like the 5 book Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon, which is also about time traveling. Be warned though that the first book is about 850 pages of fine print and each book thereafter increases in page number well past 1000. This series features stone circles, Freemasons, medicine in the 1700's, and spans the history of the 18th C from the UK to the America's. It also has an incredible love story that spans the 18th and 20th Centuries. A long, but v... Read More

Holy Family in a Plane A Sunday school teacher asked her students to draw a picture of Jesus' family. After collecting the drawings, she noticed that one little boy's drawing depicted an airplane with four heads sticking out of the windows. "I see you drew three heads to show Joseph, Mary and Jesus," she said to the boy. "But who does the fourth head belong to?" The boy replied, "That's Pontius the pilot."

Compassion With an Umbrella A Western Buddhist woman was in India, studying with her teacher. She was riding with another woman friend in a rickshaw-like carriage, when they were attacked by a man on the street. In the end, the attacker only succeeded in frightening the women, but the Buddhist woman was quite upset by the event and told her teacher so. She asked him what she should have done - what would have been the appropriate, Buddhist response. The teacher said very simply, "You should have very mind... Read More

Has anyone tried out using Ouija board? To be honest, I have done so many years back and some of the results were fascinating. There are 2 theories behind how the oija board works (I am for the latter one) The Spritualist Theory Many people believe that all information is channelled from an outside sources such as spirit guides, ghosts, astral planes and manifestations of deceased relatives and friends. The Automatistic Theory Some people believe that all information gained fr... Read More
