  • Someone recommended this book to me as a good read and it definitely was. I did enjoy it. Some of the writing made it obvious that it was the guy's first novel. It will appeal to bollywood/lollywood fans - and fans of middle eastern stories because the author is obsessed with "poetic justice" and crams it into the book like the last pair of jeans into a washing machine.....sometimes its just too much. That being said, the book has a lot of elements that all muslims from anywhere close to that region can iden... Read More

  • A team of scientists has solved a key mystery of visual perception. Why do pictures look the same when viewed from different angles? When you look at a picture, there is only one viewing position--the picture's center of projection--that yields a correct image at your eye. For example, there's but one place in the movie theater where the film creates the same image at your eye as the original scene. Viewing from other places causes distortion of the image at your eye. Why, then, don't moviegoers rush to the ... Read More

  • So, I'm teaching Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" to my eleventh graders and I've never actually read this play since I always teach "Death of a Salesman". Anyways, I'm reading it for the first time and it's so good I actually go home and read it there. I was soooooo frustrated because I'm reading this play and the people are so ignorant to actually believe in witches and witchcraft that innocent people die for no reason. So, you're wondering my point in all this? Miller continually comments that people now and... Read More
