anyone here know anything about the navayath's and the nayathi tribe? i've been told they were "arabs from yemen or saudi arabia who settled the coastal city of bhatkal in karanataka 700 years ago and are called the navayaths..." among other things. was doing a little digging around in india a few months ago, and evidently the mom's family are direct descendants. in a professor's house in hyderabad, under an awning in the pouring rain, i held in my hands a rare copy of an entire book written on the subject...
