The purpose of this post is to share my thoughts with you and get your feedback. I had created this village as a forum to promote healthy discussion and encourage curious people to post their questions. While, most of the posts are highly relevant and trigger interesting debates, a few posts have been totally irrelevant to the theme of this village. While I can not judge the quality of questions, I could determine their relevance. For example I can tell that articles written by others and copied and pa... Read More

Salaams, I'm currently writing a documentary script and I'd like to talk to people based in North America who have recently converted to Islam, and those who are in the process of exploring Islam for spiritual salvation. I'm writing this proposal for a course and if it turns out well, I would like to get funding to film it. I think the Muslim community has dire need of indigenous filmmakers to combat anti-Islamism in the media. Please, if you have recently converted or are exploring Islam, or know of someone ... Is it possible to have met someone face to face after talking only for a few weeks and feel a strong connection and attraction for one another?
June 8, 2005 at 12:16amJP: I don't agree that it's a slam dunk that your vibe over the phone and pics will be correct. Body language, mannerisms, seeing someone in 3-D vs. 2-D pics can be very, very ...

A local priest and pastor stood by the side of the road holding up a sign that said, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!" They planned to hold up the sign to each passing car. "Leave us alone, you religious nuts!" yelled the first driver as he sped by. From around the curve they heard a big splash. "Do you think," said one clergy to the other, "we should just put up a sign that says 'bridge out' instead?"

Billy Joe and Billy Ray went to the big city to get jobs. They had been friends since they were kids, so they decided to apply at the same firm. They had finished filling out the applications and were waiting to see the owner. Billy Ray was called in first. The owner was a stout man, with a weathered face and a scar above his right eye. He also had the distinguishing feature of having no ears, just two tiny holes in the sides of his head. The man ordered Billy Ray to sit down. He leaned across the desk and mo... Read More

A blonde called her boyfriend and said, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get it started." Her boyfriend asked, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?" The blonde said, "According to the picture on the box, it's a tiger." Her boyfriend decided to go over and help with the puzzle. She let him in and showed him where she had the puzzle spread all over the table. He studied the pieces for a moment, then looked at the box, then turned to he... Read More

A few days after Christmas, a mother was working in the kitchen listening to her young son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son said, "All of you sons of bitches who want off, get the hell off now, cause this is the last stop! And all of you sons of bitches who are getting on, get your asses in the train, cause we're going down the tracks." The mother went nuts and told her son, "We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to ... Read More

As-Salaamu 'Aleikum, What do you think about expanding this village to include vegetarians in the village name? Perhaps the "vegan" name could be a bit exclusive. Let me know what you think.

is there any intrinsic value in the study of something as vague, culturaly specific, and variable as psychology? Isn't it all a matter of perspective? Is Psychology in the eye of the beholder? It is definetly more art than science, and, had it been founded in the eastern world it would not doube be considered and "alternative" medicine. Are there any psychologic theories that can be considered natural law or scientific theory?
