As-Salam-Alaykum, I am looking for an explaination of the following hadith as i believe it contains an essential lesson for married people. I dont remember the exact hadith, but the following is a summary: "Take good care of women. They were created from the most bent part of the rib. If you try to straighten them, they will break and if you leave them as is, they will remain bent - so take good care of women." One explanation that comes to mind for me is that one should accept a woman for who she is... Read More

Patrick Viera had his contract sold to Juventus for somewhere in the neighbourhood of 20mil Euros. At age 29 and with two years left on his contract, it looks like Arsene Wenger decided to sell Viera a year early rather than a year late. But who's gonna be the ball-winner in the middle for Arsenal? Fabregas? Flamini? Hleb? While all three are talented, none have the size and strength that Viera possessed. Wenger needs to pull a rabbit out of the transfer market hat. And maybe Viera will be in the Juve side that ... Read More

As a Sunni, I must say sunnis are devoid of a sense of history. They think the sun rises and sets in thier ass, and Yasid is a fairy tale villan. The whole reason for fundamentalism today is because a) Sunnis didn't bother to realize that there is a politisization of a sunnized version of history and that its homogenized to suit the majority. b) Shia's need to be more literary oriented than oral-tradition focused. My two cents.

The Manipulation of Fear Noam Chomsky Tehelka, July 16, 2005 The resort to fear by systems of power to discipline the domestic population has left a long and terrible trail of bloodshed and suffering which we ignore at our peril. Recent history provides many shocking illustrations. The mid-twentieth century witnessed perhaps the most awful crimes since the Mongol invasions. The most savage were carried out where western civilisation had achieved its greatest s... Read More
